When Joe got an email that he could move his stuff down to the office he'd be working in for the next year or so, he immediately invited Ben to come with him and check it out.Joe had caught a flight back to London, having filmed 'Bohemian Rhapsody' over in the UK, last year. They now had not long since finished the all of the premiers and award shows. In the meantime; Joe had landed a new job! He'd met up with his closest cast member at the airport and headed over to the address he'd been given.
"Look at this place... It's like a New York studio." Joe paced the office, whist his friend stood with his hands in his pockets, smiling.
"Yeah, it's really nice."
Ben laughed as he watched Joe pull out one of the chairs and sit up to one of the desks.
"I don't know why they've provided an office for just me. But it's-"
"Are you sure it's just you working here? Why are there two desks?" The blonde heads over to the other chair so they are facing each other. Well, that was until Joe started spinning on the seat.
"I don't know. Maybe there's other crew and-" He shrugged
"Joe!" The voice snapped the two out of their conversation as they looked over to the door and saw a short man with his arms out-stretched in a welcome.
"Andrew! Hey!" Joe jumped up from his seat and heads over to the guy who embraced him with a pat on the back. 'Andrew' was the man who had offered Joe this screenplay job. Ben shook Andrew's hand as they introduced themselves.
"Ben." He introduced.
"Yeah! Yes, nice to meet you." The man was Scottish and enthusiastic. Chances are, this was a producer of some sort.
There was a short pause before Andrew continued talking to Joe.
"Anyway, Elsie should be here any minute and then I'll leave you to get aquatinted." The mention of another name didn't ring any alarm bells but it should have.
Joe didn't know very much about his role here. He just knew he wanted to write more and this offer was well paid, well suited and allowed him to keep travelling as he'd always wanted. It was vital for him to keep working after a big project like Bohemian Rhapsody.
"No problem!"
"So how'd you like the office? It's all we could get on short notice but I think it will do the trick for you both." Andrew smiled, proudly.
"For-"
All of a sudden there was a distinct English voice interrupting them.
"I'm sorry I'm late."
Despite not all being acquainted, everyone in the room knew this was Elsie.
"Ah, no worries Els! Joe, this is Elizabeth Harrington, your co-writer." Andrew kept his usual friendly smile but Joe's dropped.
"Lovely to meet you!" Elsie offered her hand to the staring man.
She was pretty. Dark hair and eyes, with fox like features and high bone structure. Her accent was a stereotypical English one, yet it had some dialect to it that the American wasn't familiar with. Ben, however, had deduced that the woman couldn't have been from far out of London.
"Co-writer? I wasn't aware of this." The furrowed brow that sat above his questioning eyes didn't fill Elise with any feelings of a warm welcome.
"I'm sorry, I thought you knew. Well we couldn't choose between you. Your experience and Elsie's skill as a writer. We picked you both!"
