"Listen, kardesim, this is the most important collection of our career. With the connection through Feryal, we have a chance to land a runway show in Paris Fashion Week."
Omer sighed and nodded. They'd gone over this a million times already, but he knew Sinan needed to go over it again, so he let him continue.
"Koray came up with a brilliant catalog, but with the shop growing and business booming the way it is, we need to get our name out there more. We need to hire an advertising agency that can take us to the next level. You agree, right?"
"Tamam, kardesim, tamam. We'll find someone. But you know I prefer to work with a smaller agency."
Sinan let out a loud sigh, and nodded.
"Omer, is it possible that I don't know you at all? Of course I know you want to work with a small firm. I'll do some research. Maybe Necmi Abi can help?"
Omer nodded, tired of this conversation.
"Okay, Sinan. Go. Go away. Let me work in peace."
Sinan grinned and strolled out of the office.
But Omer didn't look down at his drawings. Instead, he leaned back in his chair, rubbing his jaw.
Where was his Defne? He hadn't seen her since morning and he missed her already.
...Defne rubbed the small of her back, her hand resting on the still small, but growing baby bump under her sweater. Where was this place? Nihan had raved about the organic products at this growing neighborhood shop, but Defne couldn't find it. She stopped walking and looked around.
Just then, a tall, burly man turned the corner, and seeing a stray cat, kicked at it. The cat wailed, running into the alley.
Defne felt her indignation rise and before she knew it, she was rushing forward, her hand raised above her head.
"Hey! How about I show you the back of my hand and see how you like it? Pislik!"
The man rounded on her, shocked. His look of surprise quickly changed to one of annoyance and he stepped closer to her.
"Who the hell are you? Mind your business in my neighborhood." He sneered. Defne opened her mouth to give him a piece of her mind when a small, brunette appeared out of nowhere before she had the chance.
"Hey! Are you crazy, Cakal? You kick our cats?! They belong to this neighborhood more than you ever will! Get out of here or I swear you'll think I've turned into my mother the way I'll go after you." She exclaimed angrily, her finger waving in his face.
Then she pointed to Defne. "But first apologize! This isn't how we treat visitors to our neighborhood. You disgrace us." She stepped closer menacingly.
Cakal's eyes widened in alarm and he backed up.
"Ah, Sanem! You didn't give me a chance. Of course I was going to apologize to her. I'm a civilized man like anyone else."
Sanem let out a skeptical huff as Cakal continued.
"I would have said something but you come to me, you rush me, you scream at me, I can't think. What kind of girl are you? Always starting trouble. Always shouting and fighting, just like Mevkibe. Your family is the real shame of our neighborhood." He said accusingly, his fake outrage not fooling anyone.
Sanem's mouth dropped open in insult but before she could say anything, the pretty redhead beside her let out a noise of outrage.
"Pis! Watch how you talk to her or I'll break your teeth! You talk with respect to a lady!" She snapped, shaking her fist at him.
