"Can! Can, ne yapıyorsun?" Sanem cried out, glancing behind her towards the Iplikci house in embarrassment. What had gotten into Can, dragging her out of the house like that?

Without answering, Can pulled her along towards his truck. He just needed to get her alone so they could talk. Really talk. Sanem yanked her hand from his, stopping and glaring at him.

"What is wrong with you? You embarrassed me in front of Defne and Omer bay! You're uncivilized and rude and you can't just-aargh! Can!" She yelped, the world turning upside down, her face hitting Can's back as he tossed her over his shoulder and carried her to his truck.

"Can! Can! Let me go!" She shouted futilely as she was carefully tossed into the passenger seat of Can's truck. She sat there, frozen in shock at what was happening. Can climbed in beside her and Sanem turned towards him with righteous indignation.

"Have you lost your mind? Are you crazy? You can't handle me however you want, Can Divit! Do you think my neighborhood would let you get away with this if I told them how you treated me? Because they won't!"

Can waved his hand in a circle as if to say 'go ahead, keep going.' Sanem let out a growl of outrage, turned to face forward and crossing her arms around her chest, clamped her lips shut. He didn't want to tell her what was going on? Fine! She wouldn't speak to him either.

Can glanced at Sanem out of the corner of his eyes and had to bite back a smile. She was stunning when she was mad; her beautiful brown eyes swirling with emotion had the appearance of melted chocolate. He drove with purpose, fighting the urge to reach out and caress her face or play with her hair.

"Omer and Defne have a beautiful house, don't they?" He asked in a friendly tone of voice. Sanem shot him a look of incredulity before scoffing and looking out the window.

"Omer's studio is incredible. He not only designs women's shoes, but he is an artist. A great one. Baya baya baya iyi. He even has one he painted with Defne." He informed her conversationally. He kept up the idle chit chat about the Iplikci's while he drove and Sanem faked disinterest, though honestly she found the topic interesting. Aside from her parents, she'd never seen a couple more in sync, or more in love than the Iplikci's. The way they moved instinctively anticipating the other's needs was beautiful.

At dinner, Defne had reached for the salad bowl, scooping some into a smaller bowl while Omer had piled a small plate with beef. He had set the beef plate down in front of Defne at the same time she had passed him the salad. They'd done that over and over throughout dinner. Defne had passed Omer a glass of water mere seconds before he had started to cough. Omer had stood up from the table and left the room without a word at one point. Defne had just rubbed her arms against a chill when Omer reappeared, draping a small shawl over her shoulders.

Defne and Omer seemed to fit together perfectly, completing each other in a way that had sent envy and wistfulness shooting through Sanem. She used to believe that she and Can completed each other that way but she had begun to lose hope that they would ever find their way back to that.

Suddenly, Sanem realized the truck had stopped moving and glanced up. Her eyes opened in surprise when she saw where they were. The mountain hut. She glanced at Can in question but he just jerked his head, indicating she should follow him. She paused, debating staying in the truck out of pure stubbornness but her curiosity won out. She climbed out of the truck and followed Can slowly, waiting while he moved around, turning on the lights and lighting a fire for warmth.

She looked away, rubbing her bare arms to warm herself against the cold air when a warm blanket settled around her shoulders. She looked over her shoulder in surprise as Can rubbed his hands over her arms, warming her. The similarity between his actions and those of Omer and Defne's had her blinking back tears. She looked away and let Can lead her towards the fire. She sat down, letting the fire warm her as Can settled across from her.
