Lucy's POV:

Lockwood groaned and looked out of the window.

"Teach me how to draw Luce."

My heart stopped and my hands froze around the pencil. I didn't dare look up at him because I knew my face would heat up and I would only embarrass myself like I usually did when his attention was solely on me.

"Luce?"

No use, I had to answer.

"Mmmmmm."

Wow Lucy. What an extremely interesting thing to say to your crush. (Sarcasm Alert) Yes, I finally did realise that I had the BIGGEST crush on Lockwood but I knew it was unrequited. I mean look at him and then look at me. We belonged worlds apart and this knowledge tore me to shreds every day. I couldn't stand the thought of him moving on without me, finding love and starting a family. He was the only one I ever wanted to be with.

And lately he seemed to enjoy teasing me.

After our little stroll two weeks ago, Lockwood seemed adamant on seeing my recovery from our 'Fittes ordeal' as George called it, and was always finding excuses to go on cases together and help me around the house. He was seriously going to be the death of me if he didn't stop, for my heart was almost beating out of my chest every time I saw him. Now, he was asking me to teach him how to draw, something he knew was so connected to me because......he was bored? I had to almost force myself to pay attention to what he was saying.

"I've exhausted myself trying to figure out what to do when it hit me. You're so amazing at drawing and your always making fun of my lack of 'artistic talent' so I thought you could teach me. If you're up to it that is." Lockwood gave me his stunning smile and I covered my eyes playfully.

"Arggh Lockwood, stop! I can't teach you if I'm blind, now can I?"

He laughed and scooted over till he sat next to me on the couch.

"Right, how do we start?"

With my face heating with embarrassment at the fact that he was so close, I proceeded to teach him the basic steps of drawing. He looked so out of place that I often burst into laughter at his attempts which got a glare from him, which only make me laugh even harder. Soon I figured his skills were up for a challenge.

"How about we have 30 minutes to draw something in this room and then George will decide who's is better?"

"That's so unfair Luce, your so much more skilled than I am. You're definitely going to win." Lockwood crossed his arms and pouted like a little kid. I couldn't help but burst into a huge grin.

"Are you sulking Lockwood? Is the great Anthony John Lockwood sulking because he may lose against me?"

Whirling to face me, he uncrossed his arms and his eyes locked with mine, a pool of darkness that made me want to fall straight in and never return.

"What did you say?"

His voice and expression were dangerously emotionless and I looked away in a flash. Playing with the hem of my skirt I tried to come up with an answer that would excuse my knowledge of his middle name.

"Luce?"

I didn't respond.

"Lucy Joan Carlyle, look at me!"

His harsh tones made me look up in shock and he stared into my eyes for an instant, before he brought his palm to rest on my cheek, making my face blush bright red. Lowering his head, he caressed my cheek with his thumb until it slowly came to rest on my lips. Lockwood's lips parted as if he was going to speak, before a look of concern crossed his face.

"Luce, your shaking!"

Looking down, I realised that he was right. My whole body quivered where I sat, causing Lockwood to tremble as well, the movement crossing between us because of our bodily contact. Suddenly, Lockwood dropped one hand to my waist and another to my neck and drew me to his chest, where I still shook, my face much brighter than before. I noticed his heartbeat sounded erratic, almost bursting out of his chest.

"Lockwood," I whispered into his soft shirt. "I'm sorry. I didn't know it would be a big deal."

I felt his forehead come to rest on the top on my head and he breathed deeply before answering.

"It doesn't matter Luce, just mightily surprised that you knew. I shouldn't be though, you seem to find out everything to do with me, regardless of my consent or not."

I heard the humour in his voice and my face heated up with embarrassment of my past actions.

"Do you know why I gave you that necklace Lucy?" he suddenly asked, his long fingers gently playing with the chain on my neck.

My head spinning from his scent and our closeness, I answered in what I hoped was a humorous manner.

"I don't attempt to understand the male mine, Lockwood. It's much too complicated for me."

"But do you?" he asked again, no emotion in his voice.

"No."

Lifting the hand from my neck, he placed his long index finger under my chin and pushed it up to look me in the eye. His eyes were like chocolate, a warmth radiated from them and tingles raced up by body in answer.

"I thought my actions over the past few weeks had been enough. I didn't know you were practically emotion blind as well. Bit of a hypocrite, aren't you?" He raised an eyebrow and the corners of his mouth turned up, making my heart race like crazy. I could barely breathe. I couldn't answer.

He leant closer until his face was only inches from mine. My body flooded with fear, fear at the fact that he was close enough to hear my racing heartbeat, similar to that of his.

"Because I love you," he whispered and closed the space between us. "And I always will."
