Before I know it my friend is shouting me

As I start getting out of bed
ME i will do breakfast today you make the coffee mate
As I look around and think to myself need to slowly start packing away after some breakfast as I finish my breakfast and start drinking my coffee I start putting my sleeping bag and bed away then my bivvy I put them on my barrow start putting the cooking bits away trying not to forget anything making start packing my fishing bag as I keep look to make sure I haven't dropped any I close my bag and put it on my barrow next thing I look at the time it's 9.30 I sit down 5 minutes and phone the wife but no answer I think to my oh well will try again soon as i start pulling my rods in collapsing them down individually and putting them away in the rod bag quickly followed by the other 2 rods everything else quickly gets packed away and is put on the barrow I shout to my friend
ME just taking my stuff to the van will be back soon
FRIEND ok mate
As I continue to push the fully loaded heavy Barrow as the walk seems to take ages I eventually get to my van open back doors and start to place everything in the van it seemed to take forever as I finally place the last bits in the van I collapsed down my barrow and put it in the van I slam the doors shut and locked the van back up I have a steady walk back to where I was fishing to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything or dropped anything everything looks I've remembered to pack everything as I walk to my friend who's laid in bed still I pop my head in to his bivvy
ME come on get the kettle on I am spitting feathers here you lazy fucker
FRIEND where's your coffee stuff with a grin on his face
ME in my van now can't be bothered to go sort it out come on get off your ass and make a brew as I laughed
FRIEND uhh ok ok I might spit in your cup
ME that's ok it will all add to the flavour
As I sit in my friends chair I say to him
ME I forgot to pack MY chair
as I get more comfortable and start to relax as my phone starts to ring as I look my wife's picture appears I answered
ME morning beautiful how are you this morning I tried to ring earlier I assumed you was still asleep
WIFE yeah just woke up had a bit of a bad dream
ME oh are you ok beautiful?
WIFE yeah was just a dream but a dream about where your fishing funny enough
ME oh ok
WIFE it's ok I just dreamt that there was a bad storm that you got in and the wind was so bad that a tree fell on your bivvy
ME well lucky enough the most we had was some rain throughout the night and the only downside was it was a little slippery under foot but nothing to worry about I will let you go beautiful I've packed everything away and is in the van just sat having a coffee with my friend so should only be an hour or 2

As I put my phone back in my pocket
FRIEND everything ok
ME yeah she's just woke up
As I look at my watch
ME blimey 9.30
FRIEND at least she had a lay in
ME definitely
As I sit drinking my coffee I think about having a soak in the bath when I get home and a shave a weekend on the bank always makes me full scruffy as much as love the I can't wait to get back in own bed
I finish my coffee pass the cup to my friend gets up
ME best get going and can have a relax in the bath
FRIEND ok mate take it easy
ME if you catch anything let us know no matter the time
FRIEND definitely I will move down the lake to see how it goes

I start that long walk to my van thing about the hot bath I eventually get to my van gets in turns the radio on starts my van looks down the road and thinks to myself that looks the old man as I buckle check my mirrors look again and can't see him now
Unless he's turned down another street I drive to the end of the road in what what seems no time all looks both ways and all around can't see him anywhere and I think unless he lives in one of these houses I pull off and start the drive home as I am listening to the radio and the drive always seems to take longer to get home the time passes before I know it and I slowly pull in to the garage thinking will sort out the stuff later I get my keys and start heading in and find the wife sat on the sofa watching tv with a hot drink
ME where's mine beautiful? I ask
WIFE still in the kettle she smiles
ME just going to start running the bath baby
WIFE ok do you want a coffee or something doing
ME yeah do us a coffee sweetie please
As I start taking my trainers off and head upstairs and starts running the bath I wait for what seems like ages for it to run I sort out some clean shorts and a t-shirt and a towel for when I get out check my phone nothing from my friend still not caught owt I think I turn the taps off and strip off and jump in bath next thing I know the wife starts shouting from down stairs
WIFE are you going to be long you been in bath 45 minutes
ME shit I nodded off the baths feeling cold will be out soon
I have a quick wash get out get dried and dressed and head down stairs try's my coffe it's cold I pop it microwave a few minutes to warm through as I hear the news in the tv so I grab my coffee and sit to watch the news
