"Nah" I say to my bestfriend Kayla, as she pointed at a cute brown haired boy walking past us.

"What!?!" She exclaimed. "He is soo cute!"

We were currently sitting in the cafeteria eating lunch. Well, I was eating lunch and she was scoping out boys to find out what my type is. Why? I'm not sure, but she seemed to be enjoying herself, so I left it for the time being.

"Monroe, you are 17 years old, and you have only ever had one boyfriend! Well I wouldn't even count him as a boyfriend, more like a spring break fling" Kayla mumbled the last part in hopes that I wouldn't hear.

I frowned. She was referring to last spring break. Me and her went to Europe, and I met a guy named Paul in Italy. He was visiting his family when I accidentally bumped into him at the market. We hungout, went on a few dates, stole a kiss here and there, but that was it. Even though I did like Paul, I don't miss him much, I don't know if my feelings were very strong for him in the first place.

"Why do you need to know my type?" My frown deepened.

She sighed "because! I hate to see you all lonesome!"

Kayla was pretty, smart and funny. She constantly had guys asking her out. While I just stood there awkwardly. Her blue eyes were staring into my own curiously, as she fiddled with the tips of her long blonde hair, a slight frown etched on her always smiling face. While I sat there slightly hunched over, my hazel eyes fixated on my food infront of me, not wanting to meet her intense gaze. I pushed my almost white blonde hair out of my face, and sighed.

"I know!" She said like she just came up with the greatest idea ever.

I lifted my gaze to meet her own. She looked as though she was about to burst with an upmost amount of joy. I quirked an eyebrow at her in question.

"I'm going to set you up on a blind date" Kayla smiled

I shook my head furiously. There was no way I would be going on a blind date. And I knew that Kayla would come up with an idea like this. A blind date? really? I do not want to end up on NBC Dateline, thank you very much! The bell signaling the end of lunch, cut me off before I could answer.

"At least think about it" she sighed

"Okay" I mumbled

I didn't really mean it, I had already thought it through, and if I wanted a boyfriend, I would find one on my own.

I pushed threw my front door and trudged up the stairs to my bedroom. It was nothing special, light blue walls, with a mural of waves on the wall where my bed was. All of my furniture was white, making the blue stand out.

I dropped my school bag on the chair by my desk and huffed, falling over and landing on my bed. I curled up and was about to fall asleep, when a loud beeping from outside prevented me from doing so. I groaned. The beep was rather loud, an sounded like a truck backing up. I hauled myself out of bed and poked my head out my bedroom window, to see a large moving truck backing into the house next to mine. The truck finally came to a stop, and a tall man hoped out of the drivers side, dressed in what looks to be a movers uniform.

Just a few seconds later a black Cadillac, pulled in to the other side of the driveway. A middle age women walked out of the car. She was tall with dark hair and what looked to be dark eyes, but I was to far away to tell. She began speaking to the movers and telling them what to do. I caught a British accent in her voice and wondered what part of England she was from. I heard the slam of a car door causing me to avert my eyes from the women, to who ever was exciting the car. A boy about my age walked out, he had dark hair, which I assumed was from his mother. But instead of dark eyes, he had green eyes, even though I was a little far to tell, I could with him, that's how green they were. My eyes trailed all over him, he was tall, with broad shoulders and a strong torso. He was attractive, maybe even the most attractive guy I had ever seen. His mother asked for him to do something, and he replied with a rude comment something along the lines of

"I didn't want to move out here in the first place, so why does it involve me?"

I was busy paying attention to the fact that he to had a British accent. They must have just moved here from England. The boys mother gave him a stern look, and mumbled something under her breath, causing him to roll his eyes and turn towards the direction of the house. But before his eyes landed on the house, they landed on me. I was staring. At him. For I don't know how long. I looked down and away from his gaze, I quickly pulled my head in, and pinned my back against the wall next to my window. I took a few breaths, trying to stop the blush from rising to my cheeks from embarrassment. Way to make a good first impression Monroe.
