P. 4 -- Friends

It's almost 7, and Mack should be here soon. When I had asked my boyfriend if he would come over and help, he said that his family needed him home. Mack was also in our so I decided to ask her to come over for help.

I hear the door bell ring, and I know it's Mack. I rush down the stairs and open up the door to find my boyfriend standing there. I tilt my head to the side, a little bit confused.

" Um, I thought you weren't going to be able to make it Matt."

" Well, I heard that Mack was going to be coming over, so I asked my family if I could skip tonight."

I shrug then kiss his cheek. " Come on in then. Mack should be here any moment."

" I don't like the thought of Mack around you."

I look at him strangely and ask, " why?"

" Because she is gay and she might try to make a move on you or something."

" Matt, we are just friends. I would not let her do anything. Don't you trust me?"

He nods his head and smiles at me. I smile back. After a few minutes, the door bell rings again, and I go to open it. It is actually Mack this time, I think to myself.

" Hey Mack! Come on in."

She smiles then slides inside. She waits inside the hallway for me to show her where to go. After closing the door, I walk in front of her into the living room to where Matt is.

When she sees Matt, she freezes then says, " I'm sorry! I didn't know you had company. I can totally come back later."

Before I can say anything, she has basically sprinted to the door. I had locked the door before walking in front of Mack, and she can't seem to get it unlocked.

I walk up behind her, giggling.

" It's okay Mack. Matt is here because of our project too. He arrived a few minutes before you."

She nods her head then slowly heads towards the living room again.i walk in a few seconds after her and see that Matt and Mack are sitting in very awkward silence. I laugh and sit next to Matt with Mack in the chair in front of us.

" What all do we need for our project? I finished my part. What about you guys?" I ask them.

" I finished mine," Mack says quietly.

" What was that?" Matt asks. " I couldn't hear you."

" I said I finished my part. What about you Matt? Did you finish your part or do I have to do that also?"

Matt glared at Mack, but I put my hand on his arm then he looks at me.
