I walk into my chemistry classroom with my friends. My closest friend, Jamie, had told a really funny joke and burst into laughter which is why everyone was looking at us. I look around trying to find my boyfriend, but he isn't in the room yet.

I walk towards my desk with my friends already sitting. Lately, every single one of my friends have been on edge. I think something might be going on, but I don't like thinking about it. The door opens and the teacher walks in.

" Good morning class. Today we will be starting on a project. You can work on the project with one other person..."

The door suddenly slams open and I see my boyfriend standing in the doorway. He looked out of breath.

" I'm sorry. I woke up late this morning."

I hear someone scoff and I look around and see this girl with brown hair giving him a death stare. Hmm, she looks like someone I know. As if she can feel my stare, she turns her head towards me, and I realize that it was Mack.

I turn away from her when the teacher continues to talk about the project. We will be able to choose our partner, and I already know who I want as my partner. As soon as the teacher stops talking, I walk over to my boyfriend and kiss his cheek.

" Hey baby," he says. " You want to be partners?"

" Yes, please! This is going to be an awesome project!"

He chuckled and kisses my forehead. I smile and sit down next to him to figure out what our project will be about. We usually do all our projects together and get pretty good grades.

I look back over towards Mack and see that she is actually working alone. That seems a little unfair for her to be working alone. I raise my hand and wait until the teacher looks at me.

" Yes, Ms. Greene?"

" I think it's unfair that Mack has to work by herself. Would okay if she joins our group?"

" That seems fine to me," she says then turns toward Mack. " Go sit by Ms. Greene."

I hold my breath as Mack walks over to my boyfriend and I. I haven't talked to her since fifth grade. Sometimes I missed talking to her, but my mom wanted me to make new friends because Mack was " strange".

I am pretty sure it had something to do with her family not being wealthy enough. See, my parents have always been rich. They both come from rich families, but my mother's family was the richest. Which is probably why she acted like that

It's so stupid. Mack sits at the desk beside me, we begin our project.
