Chapter 5

Serenity

Something wet had licked at the palm of my hand, and I ignored it.

Once...

Twice...

Thrice...

I groaned at the pain my head held. I gritted my teeth, as I twisted my aching body, my back on the ground. My eyes were blurry and I couldn't remember what had happened. A few people gathered around me, not even recognizing them through my blurry eyes.

"What happened?" I asked, cringing at the sound of my raspy voice.

No one answered as I saw them looking around at one another, "Is anyone gonna answer or am I gonna have to find it by myself?"

Then I finally recognised who these people were, they were the ones I had saved back in the rogue territory. I noticed Kade giving Jaxon a glare, to which Jaxon had avoided my gaze.

"Serenity," I heard an unfamiliar voice in my head.

Please tell me I'm not going insane.

"You aren't...you're just mentally dumb," the same voice replied amusingly.

I sighed and sat up to look behind me, "Lemme guess...you're Purity?" I guessed, glancing at the huge white mountain lion, who grinned at me.

The small family looked at me as if I was going psycho to which I ignored.

"Nice to meet you again, Your Highness but I would rather use mindlink from now on," she says in amusement.

I rolled my eyes, "Well anyone gonna tell me what the hell happened?" I asked in irritation.

"It was your emotions.... Your emotions had triggered the storm," Purity replied to my question.

That was when I remembered being mad at what Jaxon had said and then seeing the sun turn into gray clouds that held lightning and thunder.

It was now my turn to glare at Jaxon, and he swallowed hard as he met my gaze.

"Is there some way to control it?" I asked, mindlinking Purity.

She slightly nodded, "Yes, but it has to do with a lot of concentration and lessons... In the meantime, we should head out to the Blood Moon Pack and learn from there."

I shivered in nervousness, as I pictured my family's face when I come home from after nine years of running away.

Would they be happy or mad when they see me? I scoffed, who wouldn't be mad when all I left was a scrappy note on my bed.

The ground began to tremble, "Serenity! Whatever you are thinking, stop thinking about it! Focus on my voice, Serenity!"

As I focused on her voice, the earthquake stopped and I started to feel weak again that my knees buckled. Luckily, Jaxon caught me and held me up by my waist.
