Deep Blue Part.2

I once stood on sand next to fluorescent sea

With a girl who was really into me

But now I stand alone

The cold waves lapping at my feet

Unforgiving and uninviting.

Waves no longer bright and clear

As I stand and wait for you to appear

But you won't come

I know you won't

Because you're not the one.

I walk back to the shore, feet covered in sand

Back over trodden and unappealing land

Running away from the waves

Away from you

Away from the remains of us.

I used to long for our eyes to meet

Making me blush in the summer heat

But now, all I have are avoided stares

Apprehensive smiles,

And an immense feeling of regret.

I won't ever again step back into the ocean

I won't ever again feel our hearts in motion

No longer pulled into the dark blue waves

No longer dancing in the shallow water

Because now,

I belong to a different kind of deep blue.
