Wade and I got topside and got our bearings.

We tracked footprints and signs until we came across an empty highway. We headed north until we found a small town named Vaiden.

We walked down Front Street and dropped a loose straggler here and there, but nothing we couldn't handle.

After passing the post office on the left, the courthouse on the right, and the public library, we found a Piggly Wiggly, swarming with rotters.

"Well, looks like the place. You ready?" I asked Wade as we hid behind a car.

"About as ready as I'm gonna be. Let's get this party started. Mary, who are the men inside?" I asked over the radio.

"Two men and a woman, Older man is Jack, got a beard. Younger one is Alex. The woman is Kylie, and..." She trailed off.

"And?"

"She's my daughter."

"Roger. We'll get em out. Over and out." I said.

Throwing flares into the center of the parking lot, Wade and I got ready.

The walkers started moving closer and closer, drawn in by the light and sound of the flares.

Dropping as many of them as we could, Wade and I fired atleast 200 rounds a piece until there wasn't anything left but blood and bone.

"Wade, let's breach." I said, running up to the door.

Using a crowbar, Wade and I pop the lock of the electric door and storm the inside of the store.

Walking down the aisles, we cleared the store one by one until we found the three operators.

"Who the hell are you!?" Said a younger man, who I assumed was Alex.

Sitting on the floor beside him was a girl, dark hair and a thinner frame. She had an MP-7 in her hands and a patrol cap on backwards.

"We're Bob and Wade, Mary sent us." I replied, pointing my UMP at him as he points his shotgun at me.

An older man appears from behind a shelf, holding an ACR and in full covert ops gear.

"Zip up your pants and put the rulers away, boys. Let's get the hell outta here." Said the man I assumed to be Jack.

Following his lead, I lower my sub-machine gun and help the girl off the floor.

After our little group fought our way back to the compound, the five of us and Mary had a meeting in the command center.

"No more." Said Mary, stabbing her knife into the table.

"Mom! I volunteered for this mission, they needed another person to run the op and I-" Kylie was cut off by Mary.

"I don't give a damn! I refuse to let my daughter get killed over a bag of cheese puffs or a bottle of water!" Said Mary, who was now yelling.

"One more chance. Give me one more chance to prove myself." Said Kylie, staring at her mom with fierce determination.

"One. Last. Chance." Said Mary. "You get yourself or anyone else killed, it's on you. Now, go get some rest. The four of you men, stay here and debrief."

Kylie went into the hallway and the rest of us sat down in chairs and on crates.

"So, what did you guys accomplish?" Asked Mary, looking at Jack.

"Diddly squat. We got inside, Alex knocked over a glass jar, the rotters swarmed us, we barricaded ourselves in, attempted to make a last stand and then your two new operators over there saved our asses. Plain and simple." Said Jack, sipping a cup of coffee.
