BEEP......BEEP.....BEEP

The sound of the heart monitor wakes me up from my sleep. I peel my eyes open and the world's blurry. My eyes are fully focused and I absorb the room. Nothing. Abousolty nothing. No flowers or cards. Wow. The hurt. The door opens and a young nurse walks in with the head in her clipboard humming a song. "Excuse me," I said drily, barely above a whisper.

I clear my throat and try to sit up a little. "Excuse me!" I say with bit more force. She turns around like she was deer caught in headlights, her eyes grew big and she started screaming. She ran out of the room screaming "She's awake, she's awake"

A few moments later, a tall and handsome man wearing a doctor coat came in. "Good afternoon, Miss Walker. I'm so glad you're finally awake" he says. Finally? How long was I out? The nurse came on my bedside and place a cup of water down next to me and help me sit up. "How long was I out?" I meekly asked him. Why does my voice sound different?

"Two years," he says. Holy Shit! I was dead for two years. It's senior year.

I look behind the doctor and the documentary channel still on. "Miss. Walker, there are a few things we need to discuss what happened to over the course of two years," he said. "What the hell are you talking about?" I said getting used to my new voice. He walked into the bathroom and grabbed a full body mirror facing away from me.

He stood in front of me and slowly turned the mirror to face me. This is so sick joke. I must be hallucinating. The girl look from that mirror is not me. She's gorgeous. She had a slender nose, defining cheekbones, no double chins, and a thinner face. This beautiful human being is not me. Is it. I move my head to the right and she moved her head along with me. I slowly reach my hand to touch my face and the reflection shows me doing it.

"How is this possible?" I asked the doctor as I move both hands, which has also gotten thin thinner, all over my face. "To be honest we don't know," he said. I stop my movement and looked at him confused. "It is common to lose weight in a coma due to the control intake we gave you but the medicine we gave you and the mix of the IV fluid somehow dissolved away 50% your fatty acid which causes you to lose a tremendous amount of weight, " he explained to me.

"But wouldn't I be a big blob of skin right now," I asked him. "Yes but fortunate for you when did a surgery to remove all the excess skin from your body just a few months prior," he says. "Well it must seem like there is a lot to process, we're going to leave you alone, " he says and he and the nurses started to walk out of my room. "Oh, by the way, we have contacted your stepmother." he says. Great the murderers coming.
