"don't be a afraid, there's nothing strange"
-poison by cavetown

I cursed as I got dressed. I'm not that tired but I didn't want to leave but at the same time I did. After getting my jeans on I tucked in my oversized shirt and put my shoes on. I put my hoodie on before grabbing my phone.

-how am I supposed to get down?

    -jump

-I'm not jumping out of my bloody house!

    -I'll catch you ;)

-I don't trust you that much

    -woooooowww thAt wounded me princess.

I opened my window and looked down. Acosta was now right under my window. He looked up and smirks before stretching his arms. Do I really want to go?

    Screw it.

I scooted toward the ends and landed on the roof of the first floor. I, carefully, walked down to the ledge. I was scared out of mind. I'm going to actually kill him. I got to the ledge and Acosta was there with his arms stretched out and I jumped.

Acosta ended up losing his balance causing us to fall back. I was now on top of him and we were very close. His blue eyes stirred with so much emotions. His eyes were shifting as if they were trying to read mine.

We heard the neighbors light flicker on and we bolted up and ran to his motorcycle. Well let's hope Mrs. Sanders did see us.

I held onto him and let everything pass by me. I noticed that we were going towards the woods. The fresh air felt good and, even though I was a little creeped out, I let go.

We rode for about 30 minutes before we stopped. I got off then Acosta did. I gave the boy a questioning look.

"I'm not gonna kill you trust me. We just have to go into the woods now." He instructed and eased. I nodded and he began to lead me.

The night was pretty. Stars loitered the sky and the April breeze kept me cool enough to wear the hoodie. I followed Acosta deeper into the woods until we stopped at an opening. It was covered with yellow and white flowers. The moonlight hit the area perfectly, enough that you could see around you but still feel like it's midnight. Acosta took out what looked like a speaker and set it down before doing something on his phone.

The soft guitar played as Acosta came towards me. The moonlight made his blue eyes look gray. They were still beautiful but different.

(Play the song)

Ease your breath

    Untie my hands

He came closer and grabbed my hand. We stood in the middle of the opening and I was confused. He pulled me closer and wrapped an arm around my waist and held my hand in the other. He started swaying and I realized what was happening. I'm slow dancing with Acosta.

Don't be afraid there's nothing strange

    it's not a trap.

After a couple of minutes I eased my head into his chest. He didn't seem to mind so I never took it off. Songs kept playing and we both kept swaying.

Once the last song was over we separated and we both looked at each other. After he stared for a couple minutes, he laid in the ground and I followed.
I looked straight up into the sky and we sat there in silence until he broke it.

"So Nadine, how old are you?" He asked, curiosity filling his voice. I shifted my body towards him.

"I'm only 16, about to be 17 though." I stayed with excitement. I couldn't wait for my birthday. He chuckled at my excitement. "How old are you?"

"I'm 17." I nodded. Usually Juniors are 17 and not 16, I just made it past the date. "Lucky," I muttered. Being the youngest in your class sucks cause everyone just uses it against you or brags about how much old they are.

"So how did you find this place?" I questioned. He shifted towards me before answering. "I wondered by it."

After that we both grew into silence. It wasn't awkward, it was actually peaceful. The stars look pretty and the whether was nice.

"I'm hungry, wanna go get something?" He asked out of nowhere.

"And what's going to be open at 1:30am?" He shrugged his shoulder and got up while shacking off the grass and pollen. I did the same.

Once we got back to the motorcycle we got in the old position and he sped off to the city. The wind in my hair felt nice and just laying my head on his back made me sleepy.

After about thirty minutes we came across a little diner that was, surprisingly, open. We walked in a quickly got a seat before ordering.

"I'll just have some fries and a drink," I told the waitress. Acosta ordered a burger and fries with a strawberry milkshake. After fifteen minutes our food was brought out.

"So why did you take me I your midnight dances?" I asked the boy across from me. He shrugged his shoulders and sipped on his milkshake. "I don't know. Why did you agree to come with me?"

"I couldn't fall asleep and I said 'what's the harm?'" I shrugged my shoulders. I knew if my dads found out I'd be killed but I loved the adrenaline rush of things. "Fair enough," he muttered.

We talked about weird things and about school drama and about our thoughts for a good hour before booking it, riding us back home.

I felt sad knowing that It'd be over as soon as I got home. I loved late night drives ands like these. The closest I get is going on the roof. I relaxed and leaned on Acosta waiting for the stop, telling me we arrived at my house.
