I put on some music as I started making the cupcakes. Acosta should be here any minute, if he was serious. I cracked the egg and got the flour ready to pour. As soon as I started the door bell rung. I brushed my hand off on an old towel before answering the door.
"Melanie?" I was shocked to say the least. My Bestfriend was standing outside my house. I haven't seen her in years, but we still text almost every day.
"I've missed you so much," my eyes became tearful. I looked at her. "I've missed you as well." We both embraced in a hug that lasted for a couple minutes before we split.
Melanie Ryan has been my Best friend since elementary. She ended up moving high schools and states. She was my only friend. I had missed her so much. It had been two years.
I invited her in and she sat on the other side of the island from me. We caught up as I finished the cupcakes and poured them into the pan.
"So do you have a boyfr—" her sentence was cut off as the door bell rang. Again. I was confused for a second then remembered. Acosta.
"I'll answer it," Melanie sprung up and ran towards the door. There stood Acosta with all his cuteness. I raced towards the two knowing that Melanie was going to say something embarrassing. I shoved Melanie out of the way and smiled at Acosta. I'm glad she didn't say shit.
"Hello sunshine." He smiled at me before walking straight past me.
"Sure come in," I told him sarcastically. He was in the kitchen and I could tell he was looking for the cupcakes. Damn you Acosta.
"Acosta," I said.
"Yes," He still was looking for them.
"They are in the oven." His head looked up at me and gave me a big smile.
"So is this your boyfriend Nadine?" I heard Melanie say. I immediately blushed before looking at her. I gave her the 'what the fuck' look. She giggled.
"No" I said quickly but was contradicted by a "Yes" from Acosta.
I looked at Acosta and wondered what the fuck is going on in his head?
"Why would you try and deny our love Sunshine?" He came close to me and wrapped his arm about my shoulders before poking my nose. I glared at him before taking his arm off me.
"No we are not dating." I said and flicked him in the nose. He pushed his glasses up before shrugging.
"Sure sunshine," Melanie muttered under her breath. I gave her a hard glare before the stupid timer went off.

Melanie went home around an hour ago, leaving me with Acosta. Sam and Ben called and told me they were having a date night, so they'll be in late.
"Wanna go and get some snacks then watch some movies?" Acosta asked me. We weren't really doing much, so I agreed. We got up and head down the street to the nearest corner store.
