You sat at the table of your favourite café, typing on your laptop, using their free Wi-Fi, you sipped a much needed mug of hot chocolate, enjoying the peace and quiet. It had been a rough week, but you decided to leave work a little earlier today and you now looked forward to a nice, quiet weekend at home, when a strange voice sounded from in front of you, "(YN) (YLN)?"

Looking up, your gaze met with somewhat familiar hazel eyes, yet you had no idea who this tall and beautiful man was that stood in front of you. "Yes," you replied quietly as your heart began to race, you weren't used to men coming up out of the blue to talk to you. It was something that just never happened, especially one so bloody good looking.

The stranger smiled at you, such a warm and gorgeous smile and you felt your cheeks heat up at the sight, again seeing something familiar in his gaze, running a hand through your (HC) hair, you bit your bottom lip as you looked at him blankly. After a moment, he realised you had no idea who he was, "You don't remember me do you?" And before you had the chance to reply, he introduced himself, "Its Sam... Sam Winchester."

You felt your mouth drop open sure that your face was full of surprise, seeing him smile with amusement at your reaction, if not a little happy that you now remembered who he was. Feeling more at ease, you smiled, "My god, you grew tall, never in a million years would have I guessed it was you." Closing your laptop, you gave him your full attention, "What brings you back here? It's been years."

Clearing his throat, his face washed her over with an awkward look, as if being there, was some sort of secret. "Um, my brother and I are here for work."

You nodded your head politely, feeling like there was more to the story, but it was none of your business, so you decided to leave it at that. "If I remember correctly, your brother is Dean right?"

Sam smiled, "Yeah, that's right," then looking towards the counter he pointed to a guy paying a bill who you immediately recognised as Dean. You knew there was no way in the world he would remember you, but a face like his was hard to forget.

Anyway, that was beside the point, you had always had a soft spot for the boy standing right in front of you and 'boy' had he grown up well. Feeling your cheeks heat up at the thought, you gave an almost unnoticeable shake of your head, your eyes dropping to your hands in your lap. And with a small intake of breath you thought to yourself, 'them some good family genes.'

Sam cleared his throat again, bringing your gaze back to his, gesturing to the seat opposite you he asked, "May I?"

Immediately, you began to clear your belongings from that side of the table and when you answered him, you were unable to hide the thrill from your voice, "Sure."

With his eyes trained to your face, he wasn't watching what he was doing and as he leaned on the table to pull out the chair his huge rough hand landed on top of yours, completely covering it. His touch bringing shivers to your skin and a shy smile to your lips. Quickly pulling away, you watched his cheeks burn red as he apologised, "Sorry (YN)... Um... so what have you been doing all these years?"

Without realising, you brushed your fingers through your hair and bit down on your bottom lip and had you been looking at Sam, you would have noticed him smile at the sight. Looking back up, you answered him with a guarded voice, because everyone you loved in your life thought what you did was a waste of time, yet you absolutely loved it. And even though you hadn't seen Sam for years, for some reason his opinion mattered to you. "I ended up studying at the University here and after a few years of working around the country, they asked me back to fill a teaching position."

Raising his eyebrows, he nodded his head in compliment and once again, you felt your cheeks heat up. "So what do you teach?"

As you spoke, you saw his expression transform. At first, he seemed impressed, then surprised, finally looking shocked by your words, making you run your fingers self-consciously through your hair. "I teach a number of classes, but I'm the Professor of Folklore and Mythology." Sam almost choked on the air in his throat, "Are you okay Sam?" You were used to people being either intrigued by what you did or flat out laugh at you, but never this.

Sam nodded his head, "Yeah, I'm fine... it's just," before he had the chance to finish his sentence you were interrupted by his brother standing at the edge of the table. Sam looked up to him, seeming rather grateful for the distraction, "Hey Dean, do you remember (YN)?"

Dean gave a little roll of his eyes, as he looked your way and winked, making you want to drop your gaze, "How could I not, for the six months we lived here all I heard about was (YN) this and (YN) that, of course I remember her. Hi (YN)"

Feeling your heartbeat thump hard in your chest at Dean's embarrassing words, you gave him a quick 'hi' in return and looked at Sam to gauge his reaction. Giving his brother a filthy look, the poor guy looked as if he wanted his chair to swallow him whole, but he ignored his brothers comment and spoke again. "(YN) just finished telling me that she works at the University here in town... she is the Professor of Folklore and Mythology."

You noticed that Sam's expression towards his brother was almost cautioning, but Dean seemed oblivious, his eyes lighting up at his brother's words. Looking back to you he spoke, "Really? We were just on our way down there, looks like you've saved us a trip." Dean gave his brother a clueless smirk and Sam looked like he wanted to punch him, but he continued speaking anyway, "You should grab her number Sammy, she could come in handy this weekend and further down the track."

Confused you turned to Sam, "Why, what do you want to know?"

Sam gave a shrug of his shoulders, "Um... we're just in town to do a bit of research."

There he went again, looking as if he was holding back important information, but seeing as though they were planning to visit the Uni and speak with someone anyway, you asked, "Research for what?"

Sam's expression washed over with hesitation as he swallowed thickly, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Unable to keep the excitement from your features, you reached for your laptop and once you logged in, you opened up your whole catalogue of folklore and mythology books. Turning the computer around to show him, you gave him a little smirk, "Why don't you try me?"

Sam opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out and Dean giving a little chuckle slapped his brother over the shoulder, "I'm gonna leave you two book nerds alone, I'll see ya later Sammy... (YN)." Giving you a nod of the head he turned and walked away and you could have sworn you heard him mumble under his breath, 'Talk about a match made in heaven.'

Turning back to Sam, you both shared an embarrassed laugh, feeling a sweet tension in the air that sent nervous yet wonderful flutters throughout your chest. And after a moment of silence, you spoke, unknowingly about to embark on hours of captivating conversation, "So, Sam... what is it that you want to know?"
