Persephone's point of view

Oh, perfect. The boy has just turned 10, it's time to make him my slave and make him work for me. I sighed in relief and slightly happy that she doesn't have to use her nicest mask again because it's getting tiring moreso than not.

...Meanwhile on the boy's side

There lies the perfectly still doll of a wolf. A wolf--with a soft and fuzzy furr. Suddenly it blinks its eyes! Blink once. Blink twice. Until he finally grasped his surrounding, he stopped blinking and focus on the situation at hand.

Someone's point of view...someone you may know. Perhaps.

Ahhh, being a perfectly still doll is exhausting, I can feel myself not moving any at all to be painful. I thought in my mind, grumbling then I stretch my body to ease the pain.

Why does Persephone send me on a ridiculous quest...?

As soon as I thought of that I could hear Persephone's voice through my ears.

"Don't fret, dear Ary. It's all for the best. I will be visiting you soon and make the boy my slave today." I can hear her voice chuckling at my complain. Feeling like an ungrateful child, I feel embarrassed to be chided by my own Owner. Or as I like to call her, my Mother. The one who modified me and make me one of the best.

"Yes, Mother. I know. I'm sorry for complaining." I said, whispering.

"It's okay to complain, but don't you lose sight of what's important. I will be back soon enough."

Then the other side of line went dead.

But then...

Footsteps are approaching! Hurried pace too.

I quickly turn myself to a doll once more. Perhaps that's the boy.

"Ah, there you are, Io! Let's go outside!"

Being called anything than Ary is still new to me, but I get the hang of it recently.

Io's not too bad of a name either.

Then I feel two small hands wrapped me in a tight hug and I roll my eyes upwards to see the boy run outside excitedly.

"Io, here is Auntie Rachel." I hear the boy's voice said. It's really gleeful and happy.

Then it went down on me.

Wait...Aunt Rachel? You mean, Mother?!

...

Wait, Mother...?!

Why is she here, right now? I know she's gonna be here soon, but I don't expect it to be this soon.

I know she's going to come soon, but I don't expect it this soon.

I am so anxious that I let my legs tweak a little...and thank the merciful God that this naive little boy doesn't notice. I would be mortified.

So I thought about something else to calm my nervousness.

No one's point of view

Well, well, well...would you look at that? The Witch have arrived to take back her 'supposedly gift' in return for one of her slave's freedom--the boy's father's freedom--to be precise.

The boy is standing in his front porch, standing face-to-face with The Witch--still her disguised looks though.

The boy's eyes perks up at the sight of his favorite nice Auntie Rachel. He's wondering if she's here for another gift today.

He greets her with gleeful voice while still gripping Io in his small hands, "Hi Auntie! It's so nice to see you again."

Persephone forced a smile, "Yes. It is."

"So, Auntie, what are you doing?" The boy asks, curious. He wonders if it's another gift.

"Can you get your parents here? I want to speak with both of them." She replied, smiling eerily.

Oblivious, he just nodded and went outside to get both of his parents. But then Rachel stopped her, "Ah, ah, ah. But can you drop your Wolfie plushie here? I will be taking good care of him while you get your parents."

Oblivious once again, he nodded and smiling and then dropped off the wolf plushie to Rachel's hands. She accepts them with both hand.

"Good boy, now go!"

--Ten minutes later--

The boy is back with his mother and father together in tow.

"Mom, Dad...Aunt Rachel Ho is back again!"

The father is  relieved that his freedom is now finally official in return for his son. He looks really happy and ready to get this over with. Meanwhile his mother chewed her lips, and frowning all the time.

"Yeah, Anwar. You're really happy with Aunt Rachel then?"

"Anwar, look at mother." the mom said, tugging on the boy's clothes and pull him into a tight hug, "when things seems like there's no hope, please still have an ounce of hope and know that I will always be with you in spirits." the mother said, her body is shaking.

The boy is  confused so he can only tilts his head, asking, "What do you mean, momma? I'm not going anywhere?"

"Yes, you do, honey. You're now going to live with Aunt Rachel, okay?" The mother replied affectionately as she patted the boy's head, "I need you to be strong and be obedient to Aunt Rachel's command, okay?"

"Mom, I don't understand...what do you mean by living with Aunt Rachel?" The boy asks again, now looking for answers.

"Just be strong...goodbye." The mother then run inside hurriedly.

The boy can only looks at his father, frowning, "Dad, what's wrong with Mom?"

"Oh, my dear healthy boy! No need to overthink, your mother she is going to be fine. She overreacts." his father reassured his son, patting his head playfully, "and we need you to live with Aunt Rachel okay?"

Still have no idea on what is going on, the boy can only nod and replied, "Okay."

"And be a good boy!"

"Don't trouble Aunt Rachel!"

Then his father went inside.
