Video Info: For some reason this video just reminded me of Faith and Jace. The beginning doesn't pertain to them that much but if you watch the rest of the video and think of Faith instead of Clary, it's epic!
Chapter 19
The steady heartbeat of Jace Wayland could put anyone to sleep. But, in this moment, I couldn't be more awake. My head laid of his bare chest while his laid on my pillow. The sheets were wrapped around us, covering us up from the world.
One of my hands seemed to trace Jace's Connection ruin, watching it as it still shined brighter than the rest. Last night was... epic. Every ruin on our bodies seemed to shine in a gold color, matching our eyes.
This seemed to make the whole experience even better.
Jace held me in one of his arms, almost protectively as he watched the ceiling. His other hand seemed to lay next to my tracing hand, brushing against it every now and then and creating a spark.
"I wish we could stay here, like this," Jace said, his voice sounding deep in thought.
My head tilted up to look at him, smiling slightly, "We could. I locked the door. We could stay here all day and night."
Jace smiled, looking down at me. "Now that sounds like a good day." He leans down, capturing my lips in his as he pulls me close. Suddenly, the door to my room swings open, making me curse under my breath. I could have sworn I locked that.
When Izzy stormed in with her steel in her hands, I knew that it didn't matter if the door was locked or not, she was entering. It didn't seem to faze her that Jace and I were laying in my bed, naked with only a sheet to cover us.
"Jesus' Iz," Jace said, pulling up the sheets.
"It's Lydia, she was attacked in her office. The Cup is gone," Izzy said, making my mouth part in shock.
Izzy left, giving Jace and me the privacy we needed to get dressed into normal clothes. We entered the computer room where Clary and Alec were, Izzy already going to the computers.
"How's Lydia?" I asked, jogging in the room.
"Better. Magnus is doing what he can to help her, but it's bad. And the Cup is definitely missing."
Jace inhales deeply, running his hand through his hair, "So is Hodge."
"Maybe he was attacked, too," Izzy said, punching on the keyboard.
"Maybe he's the one who attacked her," I comment, making Izzy look behind me, at me.
"Hodge? No way. We've known him our entire lives. He would never do that to us." She pulls up the security tape, revealing Hodge hitting Lydia over the head and stealing the Cup.
Jace sighed, shaking his head as he looked at the ground, disappointed in himself. "I led him right to the Cup."
Alec shook his head, seeming to start with disbelief, watching as it turned to anger. "We treated him like family. How could he do this to us?"
Izzy pulls up another set of cameras, revealing it to be Medic room where Jocelyn's floating body laid. Hodge was standing by her, talking to someone as he holds a ring in his hand.
My eyes squinted at the camera, watching his lips move. "Looks like he's talking to someone," I spoke my thoughts.
"And I can bet who it is," Jace said, crossing his arms in anger.
Alec gestured towards the screen, taking a couple steps away from the computers. "Well, that explains how he deactivated the Punishment rune, but it doesn't explain where he got the ring."
