I am on the way to the intern's designated room, to hand them the printed sheet of their patients.

Kanina nang matapos akong kumain ay, dumiretso ako kay Nurse Lara, para itanong kung nasaan ang mga interns. At nang sabihin kung nasaan pumunta ako agad.

At dahil nasa kabilang wing sila ng Ward, medyo malayo yun mula sa information desk na malapit sa opisina ko.

Kumatok ako sa pintuan, nang makarating ako sa kwarto, binuksan naman yun ni Dra. Bernaldez. I smiled at her, and went inside the room.

The four of them are sitting on the couch, and Dra. Bernaldez is standing beside the cabinet. I cleared my throat, and handed them the papers.

"Get the sheet that has your name in it" I instructed. They obliged. When done, they read it, and looked at me.

"That's your patients, their records are there. Their room, and some important infos about them" I said, I looked at Dra. Piaza

"Doctora, I want to remind you to please, take good care of that child. He's very important to me. And the rest of you, take good care of your patients, their lives are on you" with that I smiled and left the room.

I sighed and went to Lendri's room. While walking, I am thinking if, I can change Dra. Piaza's patient? I can't let go of Lendri, he is very important to me.

"You seem sad, nagpahinga ka na ba?" Napa-tingin ako kay Doctor Lorenzo na sumabay pala sa pagla-lakad ko, ganun ba kalalim ang iniisip ko at hindi ko sya namalayan?

"Yes, doc, anyways, where have you been?" I asked, he laughed and shook his head.

"Had an emergency operation" he said, I nod at him, kaya pala ilang oras ko syang hindi nakita.

"How's your patient?" I asked, his shoulder sagged.

"Dead" he said. I stopped walking, and faced him. I'm shock.

"W-why? What happened?" I asked, he took a deep breath.

"His heart stopped beating, I did my best to revive him. I did all I can, doctora, but nothing happened" he said, nakatungo sya at nararamdaman ko ang lungkot nya.

Those children aren't just patients for us, they're family. Kaya sobrang lungkot kapag hindi sila gumagaling, worst, they die.

I really don't know how to comfort a person, but the only thing I have in mind, is to hug him, so I did. I felt his body froze at a second, but still hugged me back.

"I know, it's hard Doctor Lorenzo, but you did your best, things like this really happens, and maybe, it is, really his time? Don't take it too hard Doc, death, of our patient is our cargo yes, but, we shouldn't plant it to our minds, that it's our fault, they died. It's God's time" I gently said, I don't know how to comfort, and I don't know what to says anymore so, I just shut up, and hugged him tighter.

He sniffed and his shoulders are shaking, I sighed as I have witnessed, the breakdown of the great Doctor Rion Lorenzo. I bit my lip, as I continue tapping his back.

Humiwalay sya sa pagkaka-yakap at tumalikod upang punasan ang luha nya. I talked his shoulder

"It's okay doc, even a veteran soldier, cry" I said, he just nod.
