Looking around for a table in a crowded cafe, I saw you there. Sitting alone. I felt nervous but I just had to go up and talk to you.
"Hey... I didn't expect to see you here. It's been a while."
She smiled and waved at me.
"Hi."
My heart started beating like crazy, and my thoughts just started racing.
"Anyways I'm gonna go now... see you around."
"Alright, bye."
She returned to was she was doing and I turned around to look for another table, but after taking 2 steps, I stopped.
I could have just left, maybe I should have. But I couldn't, my body wouldn't let me leave.
I took a deep breath. Then I walked back towards her table.
"Ummm... can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Why did you just leave like that?
Did I do something wrong?
Did something happen?"
She remained silent as she just stared at me as if she was trying to collect her thoughts, but I couldn't wait. I still had so much more to let off my chest.
"Did you stop thinking about me?
I couldn't stop thinking about you.
I missed you.
I kept thinking if you did too, if you even ever really cared about me...
Did you?"
I was shaking. I was scared, I let out all these thoughts and feelings but what do I do now? What should I do?
I wanted to run away, I wanted to hide but I knew I had to hear what she had to say. I anxiously waited for her reply. She was fidgeting with her drink, carefully thinking of what to say next. Each second that passed my chest grew tighter and tighter, until she finally looked at me and was about to tell me what she thought.
It felt as if my heart stopped and my mind went blank... fuck.
