CHAPTER FIFTEEN : RESET

When Nyx got to the library, Scribble was no where to be found. She helped herself to all the blue dust books she could find. There wasn't much books on blue dust. The ones she could find were about the Blue Harvest Moon.

"This is useless" Nyx said as she slammed the book back into the shelf.

There was a *thud* at the other side of the shelf. Nyx walked to the other side and saw a piece of flat rock at the foot of the shelf.

She picked it up and examined it. It was the most unusual rock she had seen. There was a spiral design leading to the center with stars scattered along its path.

Nyx carefully traced the path with her finger, starting at the center and going outwards. She stopped at the third star along the line.

"What is this" Nyx said.

As Nyx said the last word, the rock cracked in the middle, and turned to dust.

"I hope that wasn't important" Nyx said to herself.

"Nyx, what a pleasant surprise" Scribble said as he walked in between the row of shelves carrying books and artifacts. "Anything I can help you with?"

Nyx felt dazed. She looked at Scribble and back to the shelf. Scribble followed her gaze and saw the book on blue dust.

"Ah reading on the Blue Harvest Moon? Interesting read. Did you know that the library over at Winter has more books about blue dust? And many others that we don't have. I've been spending some time there trying to make copies" Scribble motioned to the books in his hand.

"I've written about Gruff as well. If you want to take a look" Scribble smiled. "How was the farewell?"

"Maybe some other time. And he is asleep...for the next thousand years" Nyx said looking back at the shelf. Looking for something that was missing but she didn't know what.

Nyx shook her head.

"I have to go" Nyx said as she made her way out of the library.

"See-ya" Scribble said as he dreamily watched Nyx leave.

Nyx made her way back to the Scout Headquarters. Pearl was standing over the map of Pixie Hollow while Fury was polishing her weapon.

"What's the update?" Nyx asked.

Pearl looked up from the map. "All the fires have been put out. Rebuilding efforts start tomorrow. The Tinker fairies are all hands on deck"

Nyx nodded. Her brow was slightly furrowed as she looked at the map and became lost in her thoughts.

"Everything alright?" Fury paused her polishing and asked Nyx.

"Yeah..." Nyx said. She knew something wasn't right but she couldn't remember what it was.

"I'm going to head home" Nyx said.

"You sure you're okay?" Pearl asked.

"I'm go..." Nyx barely said. She felt herself falling and then everything went dark.

Nyx woke up in the infirmary bed the next morning. Her head hurt and it felt like her mind had been split into two. She sat up and her head throbbed with more intensity.

"What happened?" Nyx said as she held her hand to her forehead.

"Ah welcome back" Alex said. "It looks like you fainted from exhaustion"

"I...." Nyx tried to say something but the longer she kept her eyes open, the harder her head hurt.

"There's some berries and cheese by your bedside. Try to eat something and get more rest, okay?" Alex said.

Nyx looked at the berries and food  at her bedside but somehow they looked unfamiliar. She tried to get up but it made her headache worse.

She tried to remember her last thought but the harder she tried, the more her headache pushed until she gave up and let sleep takeover.

Nyx woke up the next day feeling refreshed. The headache was still there but almost as if it was a faint memory. She looked around the room and realized she was in the infirmary but she had no recollection of how she got there.

At that moment Alex walked up to her bed.

"And how's the patient feeling this morning" Alex said with warm smile.

"Refreshed. I should check in more often" Nyx said with a hoarse voice and managed to sit up.

"That's good because I can discharged you now. And just in time too, they're having a farewell for Gruff" Alex said while filling out the discharge records.

"Gruff?....right. I think I might sit this one out" Nyx said with a little unease.

Alex looked up from her discharge records, "That's nonsense. You need to be there" Alex squeezed her shoulder to reassure her.

Nyx nodded in return.
