It took everything he had, as well as some outside help, but he did it.

Mook beat his father.

After Aru had been seriously injured (he didn't want to believe she might has died), Mook was set off. Something snapped in him, and he knew he had to fight him. He had to fight for himself, his family, his friends, and Aru.

The bastard would use Dante. He used him as bait. He used him as a shield. He used him as a weapon. It was as if the jerk couldn't hear the distressed cries his youngest son would let out. Perhaps he did hear the cries, finding pleasure from it. Whatever the case was, it made Mook sick and angry.

It was hard, especially since trying to get it to rain had drained Xena from  most of her energy, but he managed to deal a great amount of damage to his father before the others stepped on. It was their principal, much to their surprise, that dealt the final blow.

Seeing as the threat was no longer in motion, Mook managed to change back from his serpent form. His body ached with every move he made, but he didn't care. Instead, Mook made his way to a small crater and glared at the body of his unconscious father. He made a mental note to Susu, Xena, Gang Ho and those underclassmen for aiding him. As the principle and teacher took his father away, Mook turned around and searched for his mother and Aru. Making his way through the crowd, he finally found his mother. She was sitting on a table as she was checked over by paramedics. Aru was no where in sight.

"Are you alright, mothe-"

Mook was immediately pulled into his mother's arms, caught off guard by her sudden embrace. She shook as she held her son in a firm, yet gentle, embrace.

"I thought I lost you! Thank goodness you're okay!"

He held onto his mother until she calmed down. As they pulled away, he finally questioned her.

"Mother, where is Aru?"

Ms. Lee pressed her lips into a thin line as she brushed some of his hair out of his face.

"I honestly don't know. The medical personal came and took her away."

After the two calmed down and were reassured that both were unharmed, they went off to find the rest of their stitched family. It wasn't long before the two found Gang Ho. It wasn't hard to find him, after all, for he was comforting a distressed Susu. As they approached the two, Susu frowned and left, leaving Gang Ho frowning at the ground.

"Are you hurt?"

Gang Ho peered up at the two serpents before giving them a small smile, shaking his head.

"No, I'm alright."

Standing to his feet, Gang Ho stood on the other side of his mother figure and helped Mook gently guide her through the rubble. They were looking around for a while, trying to find Dante. Finally, their eyes landed on the boy. He was not too far from where they currently were, balled up and shaking. After making sure Gang Ho had a good grip on his mother, Mook carefully made his way to his brother.

"Y-You shouldn't be around me."

When Dante spoke, he didn't look up to see Mook coming, he just knew. Mook was taken back by the remark, but shook it off and stepped towards the shaking boy once again.

"He's right. I'm a wretched boy. If I had only obeyed him, maybe everything would have been okay."

"Dante, you're not-"

"Yes I am. If I wasn't, maybe you'd like me. If I wasn't, maybe my mom would still be alive..."

"You are no wretched boy. You are no mistake. You are Dante. You are my brother."

Dante's eyes widened as he peered up, Mook's sincere eyes meeting his own broken ones.

"And as your brother, I will always be there for you, I promise"

And he would keep that promise.
