December 10th, 2017
It was a beautiful day outside and I was in my room dancing to All Time Low as I got ready to go out with a group of friends. I only really knew one of them, Kristen, but she insisted that I go out with them.
I met Kristen a few months back and we instantly became good friends. She was the complete opposite of me, very outgoing, spontaneous and bubbly, didn't care what others thought about her. I loved that about her. She was everything I wish I could be, if I wasn't so shy.
The music that coming from my phone stopped as I got a call, it was from Kristen. "Hey! I've ringing the door bell for half an hour, what are you up to in there?!"
"Oh sorry! Hold on, I'll be right there" I threw the phone on my bed and rushed to the door. As soon as I opened I was pulled into a bear hug.
"HIIII!!" Kristen was always enthusiastic about everything. "You're... squishing my ...boobs" I could barely breath because of her.
" Oh! Sorry. I'm just so excited that you are hanging out with us today"
" You're always excited about everything and besides it's like it's the first time I hang out with the group" I said as we both made our way to my room so I could finish getting ready.
"Well yeah.... but Chris said he was excited to see you and very happy you were going" she said with a smirk on her face. Chris was the one I had this sort of crush on. But I had no intentions of ever making a move because for starters I know he probably will ever like me back and I have never had a boyfriend so I have no clue what to do.
Kristen was still staring at me with that cheeky smile on her, I just rolled my eyes.
"VERY happy to see you..." She reminded me. "Okay fine" I said as I got that stupid smile you get on you when you like someone " At a girl! I can't wait for you two to get together, you're going to look adorable!" by now Kristen was going her super happy dance which involved her jumping up and down and snapping her finger frantically
"Can you please turn it down a notch?" I asked while putting on my converse
"Why?" she asked.Normally I loved Kriste's enthusiasm, but this time it was getting to me. "I don't want to get my hopes up Kristen. I've never had a boyfriend or anything close to that. I just don't want to get hurt." I was sitting on the edge of my bed with my head in my hands. Kristen sits next to me and caresses my back " Everything will be okay, You are a beautiful 18 year old girl, it will come naturally to you, and he is the biggest idiot on earth if he doesn't stay with you" I looked up to meet her gaze " Thank you, you're the best Kristen" We hugged and she said " You're welcome Alice and if he ever tries anything funny I will personally deal with it" She let out a chuckle as she broke the hug and got up. She stretched her hand towards me, gesturing me to get up. "Now let's go, we don't want to be late". We both left my house and made our way to the restaurant.

When we arrived everyone was already seated. We had Claire who was this blond bombshell . I've heard stories about her being a slut, I didn't believe it at first, she seemed so sweet but after she told me the 101 places she had already had sex and the different guys, I was shocked and disgusted. Jeff was your average bad boy, tall, dark hair, fit and handsome. I would see him around school and I used to day dream about him. But after getting to know him I realized he wasn't all that pretty. He had a rocking body, don't get me wrong, but there was just something about his face that turned me off. But he was super nice and for some odd reason he was dating Claire. I say odd because they made an odd couple, but hey isn't that the cliche the bad boy with the slut? Steve was the group clown, always joking about everything, he was chubby and funny but gross. And Jennifer was my long time friend, we had drifter apart in the past but now since I was hanging out with all of them we reconnected, she was slim with wavy brown hair. She was super sweet and generous.
Kristen and I greeted everyone and I was going to sit next to Jeff but Kristen beat me to it. She did it on purpose so I would have to sit next to Chris. And she also had this mega crush on Jeff even though he was dating Claire and she was Kristen's best friend.
"I'm very happy you are here." Chris voice was the cutest thing ever, I turn to Kristen trying to hide my blush but she just winks at me. I turn back to Chris and let out a small chuckle hoping my cheeks weren't red hot. "You look really pretty Alice" Oh god there is no use, at this passe I'm going to be blushing all night! " Oh.. Thank you Chris, but it's nothing special" I said looking at my hands. I looked around the table, the rest of the girls were all so well dressed I was in a pair of skinny jeans and top. When I look at Chris he had this disappointed look on his face and he was looking at Jenny, who was hinting him to do something that I didn't understand. I was looking at him when he meet my gaze " hmmm...." he started but I cut him off "Thank you, really" and I give him a quick kiss on the cheek. I turn away to hide my blush but I could see in the corner of my eye that he had his had over his cheek mouthing to Jenny " Did you see that?!" Jenny gives him a double thumbs up. What was going on here? Did he actually have a crush on me? No that's not possible. I realize
I'm smiling at my own thoughts when a menu is placed in front of me. I thank the waiter and start looking through it trying to find something to eat. I couldn't decided but I had to put my decision making on hold when Jenny called for everyone's attention.
" As you all know it's my birthday in two weeks and I want everyone over to have a pool party at my house" every was super excited about it. Of course, who doesn't like a pool party? Oh yeah that's right, me. I was lost in my thoughts again when Chris asked me what's wrong, I guess he noticed something in me expression. " Oh it's nothing, I'm happy to go, but I don't know if I'll swim or not"
"Why not" He put his hand over my should and just that was enough to make my heart tingle.
"Too shy..." I said looking down to my hands. Chris sighed and softly grabbed my chin and made me meet his gaze. " No way, you are swimming" He said this half serious and half joking and I was trying my best not to blush. "But.." I said trying not to smile. "No buts! You are gorgeous and you are swimming even if I have to drop in the pool" My heart stopped. Did he just say i was g-gorgeous? I widen my eyes in shock and I can feel my cheeks heating up. Chris soon realizing what he had just said let go of my chin and started to stroke the back of his head in embarrassment. "So.." He look at me nervously, I let out a chuckle before I reply " Fine, fine I'll swim" I placed my hand over his and he squeezed it back, he had this huge smile on his face " You better or else."
I couldn't believe this was actually happening. Maybe he did have a crush on me.
The rest of the dinner went by like a breeze and when I got back home and was on my bed, I found myself lost in thoughts of Chris's smile and Jenny's pool party. I could hardly wait. Everything looked so promising...
