You were standing outside the fast food place you wanted to meet David in. It was half past 10pm, that was two hours too late, and you were getting very angry. On top of that, it began to rain and you happened to have forgotten your umbrella at home. Luckily the entrance area had a roof so you wouldn't get all soaked but it was still very cold.
You tried to call him at least 20 times now and he never picked up his phone. However, you decided to try your luck again, anyways, and this time he actually answered.

"What, what do you want?", David answered as he picked up the phone. He sounded very drunk and you couldn't help but let out a small groan as you got even more angry at him.
"Excuse me, what do you mean, what do I want? You were suppose to meet me at the fast food place two hours ago! What's wrong with you? In the last weeks, you always make dates with me and then you either show up really late, drunk or not at all!", you yelled into the phone. You could hear that in the background there was loud music playing and you were pretty sure you even heard two people fucking in the back. You made a disgusted face.
"Oh, shut the fuck up and take a hint already, bitch. I'm not surprised all your previous boyfriends broke contact with you.", he slurred into the phone.
"Are you seriously breaking up with me while you're drunk?"
"So what if I am? I already found a new girl, anyways, and I am not in the fucking mood for sidechicks. And if you call me one more fucking time, cunt, I swear you'll regret it."

And with that he hung up on you. You felt like throwing something at someone. You were so angry and upset. You decided to buy yourself a small meal for the ride home, because it will be a long one. How could David do something like this to you, and that so close before the one year anniversary? Why do these things always happen to you?
As you paid, you looked out the window and decided you'd wait for the rain to at least die down a little before heading home, so you took a seat at an empty booth and unpacked your cheese burger and began munching on it. As you were eating, you let yourself calm down a little, watching the rain. You went through everything that just happened in your head again then sighed. You knew it wouldn't last long as soon as he began doing this just one and a half months ago, but you never thought it would end as horrible as this.
You set your burger down and leaned your head against the window. In the reflection on said window you could see the clock, showing you it was now 11pm. You should head home soon or your parents will get angry at you. Bummer, you thought, I would have loved to just spend the night here.

After finishing your burger you got up and made your way home through the rain. At least you didn't live that far away, only a few bus stations down the road. As soon as you arrived home, your mother stood in the hall, wearing the pj's you gifted her for christmas last year and a silk robe over it. She looked displeased.

"Do you know how late it is, y/n? You should have been home an hour ago!", she scolded you. She then saw how upset you already looked anyway and the bag of fast food in your hand and her expression softened.
"Hey, baby, did something happen?", she asked gently after you closed the front door. You sighed and explained what happened.
"David ditched me then broke up with me after I called him the 11th time while he was at someone's party and drunk..."
Your mother had a hand over her mouth in disbelief before she took he fast food from you and gently hugged you. You returned the embrace, feeling a little better than before. After you two let go of each other she unpacked the food for you and you two went into the living room, where your mother turned on the TV for you two to watch. You smiled, finally taking off your jacket on the way and hanging it up in the hall before joining your mother. You two ended up watching a show which was a compilation of funny and unbelievable clips found on the internet. It helped you calm down from the events that happened tonight and some of these videos were quite funny.

After the show was finally over, it was already past 1am and you and your mother decided that it would be best to go to sleep. You threw all the trash away, washed your face, brushed your teeth, changed into your American Horror Story themed pj's and practically passed out as soon as your head hit the pillow on your bed.

The next morning you were awoken by your parents arguing downstairs, though they tried to keep it quiet. You decided that you already had enough to work through on your own and closed your eyes again, letting their voices fade away as you drifted back to sleep.
Just an hour or so later you woke up as you felt your father gently stroke your shoulder. You groaned, not wanting to get up, which made him chuckle. You slurred out the cliché line of '5 more minutes', but you were not given that luxury. Instead you yelped as your father pulled your blanket off you and quickly opened the curtains, letting the sunlight blind you for a hot minute. You stirred around in your bed, shielding your eyes from that awful fireball in the sky, and even hissed, "It burns! My dark magic is vanishing! I am turning to dust, noooo...."
You and your father laughed for a bit before you reluctantly got up in the end. You may have lost this time, but next morning you will wake him the exact same way. You have to get even somehow, right?

You two walked down to the kitchen, where your mother was buried in the newspaper, sometimes sipping at her black coffee.
"Morning, ma.", you said as you walked in.  She raised her head from the paper and gave you a smile before returning into her hiding spot. You made yourself a cup of jasmin tea and grabbed a toast before sitting down at the table. Nobody spoke for a while, which was normal. Mornings were usually very quiet and you all liked your peace and quiet in the morning. After a while your father spoke up, however, ruining the silence.
"So, I heard about what happened last night."
Your mood fouled as soon as he mentioned it and your mother was glaring at him behind the paper. That was not a good start for the morning, not at all.
Your father noticed what he has done and cleared his throat, trying to save this somehow, "W-Well, maybe he'll call you when he is sober-"

"No.", you interrupted him. Now all the attention was on you, even your mother looks at you surprised.
"I don't want him to call me back, I honestly want to take a break from relationships at the moment. You know my last two relationships were just awful, I need some time off to collect myself."
You smiled a little and thankfully your parents smiled back, your father seeming relieved that you were not angry at him. Your mother gave you an approving nod.

The rest of the morning went by really smoothly. You only had 3 classes in the afternoon so you decided to spend the noon clearing out your room of any memories of David, as well as deleting all the pictures and contacts of him.
You were done earlier than expected, and because your parents had to go to work, you were home alone and quickly grew bored. After staring at your ceiling for a few minutes you finally got up and got dressed in a white tank top and blue-white striped short pants. You wore your black converse and threw on a slightly torn jean-jacket before grabbing a small backpack, throwing in your ID, wallet, phone and keys then left to go for a walk.

It is pretty warm and nice out, you noted.
It was a new day.
