My chest rose
and fell in shallow breaths
the fear threatenning
to make me hollow
and it spread like fire
inside me
in my nerves
in that rushing blood
and along the fire
was an icy chill
and i shivered and spasmed
and began to slowly fall apart
and then quickly
like shards of broken glass
which would
pierce anyone with their
deathly edge
but all I knew was
you were slipping away
like sand in an hourglass
and I watched you go far away
your figure diminishing
and I reached out
put my hand ahead
to hold you back
but your footsteps didn't cease
and with every step you took
you carried away a piece of me
that broken one
leaving me incomplete
and I stay there
falling apart
unfixable
and you slipped away
like sand in an hourglass
and I never reached you.
