Atem pov

I felt my hear pound when I saw her. By the gods, she was goddess in human skin.

Even her eyes...... Her big beautiful brown eyes....

"What is your name girl? "Seto asked as he glared at the poor girl.

"My name is Maria sir"

Even her name  was magnificent and her voice we're like sirens drawing me..... No no no no Atem get a hold of yourself. You don't even know if she is dangerous.

Isis came forward.

"Where are you from? "

"Err, not from around here "

Strange, why won't she tell us where she is from?

"And why not? "I asked this time

She looked down.

Did something happen.....

"You we're found in desert coming here. What is your goal here? "

She began to think of how to reply.

MARIA POV

Oh men, what do I say now?

I remember Zira saying I can trust them, so let me give it a try.

"I was sent by the gods to defeat Bakura. " I answered.

And what did I get, shocked looks.

They we're extremely shocked, while Seto glared.

"How dare you speak in the name of the gods in vain?! "

I knew Seto was cold but this was too much.

"Its true! I was even given the power of the gods by themselves. It was because Bakura found a way to try to take himself. So it........ "

"That is impossible. No one can do such a thing. " Shadi interrupted.

"I must agree"Mahad stated.

Isis just watched me unsure.

Suddenly, Atem stood up, clearly showing that he has had enough.

"Stop this, there is a way to know if she is lying or not ".

Then the Pharaoh faced me.

"Maria, are you sure of what you are saying? "

Without hesitation, I nodded.

Then he faced Shadi. Wait is he going to do what I think he wants to do?!

Shadi nodded and walked towards me   holding out his millennium item.

I gulp. This is gonna hurt.

Suddenly, the item began to glow so brightly it began to burn my eyes. I screamed then fell into darkness.

ATEM POV

The light was blinding. I gasped as I shielded my eyes. Isis screamed as Mahad shielded her from the light. Also coving his eyes.

Seto and Shadi did the same thing and soon the ground began to shake.

Very soon, the light went off and I opened my eyes and gasped in horror and amazement. The Egyptian gods were surrounding the girl, as if protecting her.

The others too stared with extremely shocked expressions.

It was true. Maria was telling the truth.

The mighty gods the faced us and we quickly bowed.

Facing them again., they began to fade away but before they said something.

Protect the girl

And they were gone leaving an unconscious  innocent and beautiful Maria behind.
