this is going to be a short story. It will only have a couple of chapters, but I'm not sure if I want to do more. I might, but no guaranty. I hope you enjoy my first story I ever published on Wattpad. Enjoy!

The grey doors slid open, letting the fresh air, and the warmth of the sun come in. Adriana was in the center of the room, dressed in a white dress. She looked around her, confused. She couldn't remember how she got here, or anything that had happened to her. She followed the crowd of kids, all of them the same age, into the sunlight.

The sky was blue, with no clouds flying around. Everything was peaceful. Laughters echoed in the air, as she continued walking on the white sidewalk. Beautiful green trees with large pink, yellow, or red flowers covered the small branches. She looked up, as birds flew on top of her and unto their nest in a nearby tree.

"Adriana! Sweetheart, come here!" two strangers walked up to her. One of them was a woman with blond hair and sparkling green eyes. She had a grey working outfit, all clean and perfect. She was holding the hand of a man taller than her. He had black hair and glasses placed over his brown eyes. He also had a perfectly clean working outfit.

"Who are you?" she asked, confused about how they know her name.

"Don't be silly Adry, we're your parents!" the man said.

Adriana, confused, took the hand of her 'mother' and walked with them. There had to be a mistake. She had never mete those people in her life. She had no memory of this place either. She had no memory at all. She thought to herself as she past perfect houses with happy children playing in the garden with their parents.

"You look confused, are you alright sweety?" the women asked her.

"Yeah, I'm just tired," she answered, trying to hide the fact that she was lost, confused and scared.

They walked to a park with perfectly cut grass with a very green color. Everything was so perfect. Some kids were playing with balls, others having a picnic. Everyone that seemed to be her age or around her age (10) was wearing a white dress, or white shirt with white shorts, white socks, and black shoes. Nobody seemed to be younger than her. She looked up at her so-called parents and asked:

"I can't remember... where are we?"

Her parents stopped and looked at her. They started laughing historically, thinking it was some sort of jock, but it wasn't. They laughed till their stomach was hurting.

"Sweety," her mother straightened herself, "this is the park you love to go to with your friends. Our house is just around the corner. We pass this park every day to bring you home from school. Now come on, we could have a nice snack in the garden once we get home."

She placed her hand on Adriana's shoulder and continued walking.

What friends? What house? What garden? Adriana was so confused. How could she possibly forget about her whole life? She decided to act as if she knew and walked home with her parents.

Their house was a 2 stories tall white house with a large black roof. It was a modern house, with a dark brown door. There were neatly cut bushes surrounding the perimeter of their large garden. They stepped into the house. Adriana followed her parent's action and took off her shoes. She put them in a large white box with her name on it.

"Why don't you put your outdoors shoes and I'll be right back with the snack," her mother offered and left to the kitchen.

"We could play with Teddy," her father whispered in her ear.

Who was Teddy? And why was he whispering?

She put on some black sneakers and left outside.

"Hey Teddy, want to play?" her father waved at a boy her age playing alone in the neighbor's house.

"Shure thing Mr. Jones," he yelled back.

So her name was Adriana Jones... and not Cereus? That hit her with a shake. She was starting to remember. Her last name was Cereus, not Jones. Something was definitely wrong.

"Hi Adry," greeted Teddy. His brown eyes beamed with joy as if it had been a long time they hadn't seen each other. He had small freckles on his nose and cheeks, and light brown hair.

"Theodore will you play with Adriana while I go help Katy set up the back yard for snack time?" her father asked.

"Sure!" Teddy smiled widely and dragged Adriana to his garden. His house was almost identical to her's, except it had a brown roof and a light brown door. "Do you want to play the game we played yesterday?"

Adriana panicked, not knowing what to answer. She smiled a trembling smile and asked:

"What was the game again?"

"We run away from the bad guys! My dad can be the bad guy!" Teddy smiled and rushed into his house.

Adriana calmed down. The jumpy boy was so kind and fun. She would very much enjoy running around a little. Her legs felt like she had been laying down for her whole life. She needed to get rid of the pain in her legs before she fell down and dirtied her perfect dress.

Teddy came back with a tall man. His face was partly hidden from his beard, but he had the same wide smile as Teddy and the same brown eyes. Teddy ran away, Adriana following him. They ran all around the house, trying to avoid Teddy's dad's reach.

"Adriana, sweetheart," her mother called from her house. "Come home to eat!"

Minutes had passed, but it felt like seconds. She hugged Teddy and left for her house. She was starting to fit in. She started to feel a bit more comfortable in her new life. Maybe she could live here without a problem. She just needed the right information, and some time and then she would be a real Jones.
