The world was never meant to be fair. Challenging days turn into weeks then months and then years of the war hadn't been dealt with properly. No proper army by your side, no allies willing to help because they too dropped into the same rabbit hole as you. Piling and piling up, pressured into the ground. Suffering and unable to breathe... in this world, everyone falls together with no hopes nor faith or any reason.

" UGH! I am completely aware of what's happening right now and, to be frank, I am on a verge of a mental breakdown," Elena heaves out. The group of young adults needed something to hold onto their individual sanities due to the incident that happened just hours before. And so Elena and Johnathon were arguing over her bag of Cheetos.Johnathon snickers, his mouth full of Cheetos," I'm sorry, Elly but I never acknowledged your name written on the BAG!" he chuckles some more, crumbs spewing out the mouth and bold letters reading "EL" written multiple times in the front of the snack bag. Anthony only shakes his head as his eyes are still focused on the road. The two continue to bicker and toss the, now empty, bag around the backseat.
" We're almost there, guys! Just a few streets down and- ah! There!" Anthony nods his head towards some store outlets along with a gas station.
"Oh we are totally going to have to raid some of these places! I need new clothes!" Elena whines out.
Johnathon rolls his eyes," As if your narcissistic self needs more clothes in the middle of this chaos," he says, pointing at the piles of squirming corpses out the rearview window. One of them snarls at him and he flips them off before turning back around in his seat.
"Ugh, GOD! Why do you always got to be so problematic!" Elena laughs out but to a pause. She sighs quietly,"... Cassie would've wanted to raid the clothes stores with me... she would have enjoyed making fun of me wearing fancy dresses..." her eyes were teary, along with the boys as soon as they parked. All of their eyes were already so red and puffy from crying earlier. All sniffling, Anthony quickly wipes away his eyes to stay composed and have the group return to their equanimity. He knows they miss their family terribly.
"We got this guys, we can do this! We have to search the area and no dress shopping! We need to find food and later maybe we could..." and before he could finish his thought aloud, he stops and shakes his head." We'll focus on the now, we need to find a place to sleep after this. If not, inside the truck will do." Anthony is like a big brother to both Elena and Johnathon thanks to their siblings being best friends with him since middle school. They know he's been trying his best to keep them afloat with his kind and pertinacious personality.
They all unbuckle their seat belts and hop out of the car. Outside, all you can smell is old blood and rusty walls. The group of young adults grew nervous, Anthony syphoned some of the gas pumps before they all started walking towards the small strip of stores with weapons readied in their grasps. Elena had the supply pack on while Johnathon and Anthony were ready to look ahead and pack whatever is needed along the way. As they all pried the door open, they made sure to check if there was any empty rooms or offices nearby. Anthony took note of the empty rooms as well as the sun setting. As Elena only noticed the clothes and jewelry. Same for Johnathon just wanting to find some food. They noticed the store was quiet, so they all thought there wasn't anything to worry about.
"Hmm.. I do think we need at least some new clothing, not a lot but to only keep light and some warm. Fall will hit soon out here." Elena goes ahead into the aisle, deciding to just pick out 2 outfits. She started scanning the clothing racks, she wanted to hurry while the guys were still sweeping the store. They had forgotten their first supply run rule; to check the store before looking for supplies. She then hears footsteps behind her, following a snarky, unknown, voice.
