Caroline's pov
-
i've lived in Derry all my life but to be one of the only homeschooled kids in town, it's a bit weird. no one really knows you exist.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
i groaned before knocking my alarm clock on the floor and sitting up. i looked out the window noticing  it was still dark and rolled my eyes. i got up, for a shower and basically got ready for the day and before you knew it, it was time to leave. my mom kissed my cheek and smiled, "have a good first day." and she handed me my backpack. i sighed, "and last." before laughing, kissing her back and taking my bag.
i walked outside and got on my bike, noticing a boy about my age getting on his bike two doors down. i smiled and with that i was greeted with a smile back. i started riding until we basically were right next to each other. i took a moment to exam his face. thick glasses, messy hair, freckles and deep brown eyes. he smirked and began to talk, "like what'cha see?" and with that i rolled my eyes and peddled into the school. i locked my bike up and noticed three boys getting picked on so i walked up to them and pushed the guys off. one of them turned around and smirked down on me, "and what do you think you're doing beautiful?" he asked. i rolled my eyes and flipped him off before asking the three boys that were getting picked on if they were okay. they all gave me a nod and a friendly smile. i looked behind me noticing the three taller boys had walked away. the boy from earlier pulled in and locked his bike next to mine before walking up to the three boys, "oh hello again." he smirked once again. i sighed, "you're going to be annoying this summer aren't you?". he laughed and said, "i'll do what every you want me to do my queen!"and smirked. and with that i just gave him a confused look. one of the boys finally spoke up, "H-hi i'm Billy." one of them stuttered. "A-and this is Eddie, S-Stan and R-Richie." Billy smiled as he'd finished his sentence. i smiled back, "i'm Caroline. i've been homeschooled all my life but all the sudden my mom decided to put me in school.". they all laughed a little and nodded. the five minute bell rang and i immediately remembered i needed to sign in at the office. i said goodbye and explained why i had to go and with that, Richie spoke up, "i can help if you need me to. like show you where classes and the office is and your locker and stuff.". i nodded and said, "that'd be great." and like that i started walking.

Richie looked back at the three boys and winked before running next to me. "so? office?" i asked. he looked at a door a little ways down and said, "there." and began walking towards it. i walked behind him before he opened the door and let me in. i smiled at him and walked up to the desk, "hi um i'm Caroline. Caroline Cooper. probably the only student that's joining the last day." the woman behind the desk laughed a little and nodded before handing me a paper to sign and a schedule. i signed the paper, Richie still standing next to me basically staring. "Richie? shouldn't you be in class?" the woman asked. "oh uh yes ma'am i was just helping C-" he argued until the woman just laughed. i smiled and handed her the paper. "thank you Miss Cooper! have a great last day." she smiled. i smiled back and nodded before walking out, looking behind me waiting for Richie. the bell rang which meant first period. Richie quickly said, "math. how about you?" and began walking towards the classroom. "ooorrr we could completely ditch and have a little fun if you know what i mean." he said winking. i looked at him in disgust and said, "math. let's go.". i turned around and noticed him rolling his eyes and trailing behind. i laughed and went to open the class door, and to my luck, it was locked. Richie looked at me confused and then at the locked door and smirked. "locked...fuck.." i said to myself. "i didn't know homeschoolers swore." Richie said, trying to get a laugh from me. i nodded and walked back towards the office when i felt a hand grab my arm, "no let's just wait till next period." he smiled. i rolled my eyes once again and said, "well i guess we can look for my locker?". he just nodded.

the halls were empty except for our small bodies walking down past the lockers. i noticed more than half the class rooms were not being used which probably meant there wasn't many kids in the school. Richie looked over at me, "what's the locker number?". "206." i said looking back at him. he just smirked and started walking again. i sighed, running towards him, almost tripping on my own feet. "boom." he said while hitting my new locker. i looked at him and smiled, before opening the locker and starting to shove my things in it. "aaannd just to your surprise..." he said while unlocking the locker next to mine, "we're right beside each other!". i smiled and shook my head while shoving my things into the locker.

-1 hour time skip-

an hour went by quick, mainly with Richie making tons of perverted and nasty comments. but for some weird reason it was different from when my brother made them. when Richie made them it was actually funny, and he knew i thought they were funny from the way he wouldn't shut up. "Richie!" i heard one of the boys yell. we both turned around to see Eddie running up to us. when he stopped in front of us he was out of breath and with that he pulled out a inhaler and began breathing in and out. Richie rolled his eyes and started to walk away. "Richie oh my gosh stay here." Eddie quickly said while stuffing the inhaler back into his small fanny pack that sat around his waist. Richie turned around and looked at Eddie confused. "where the hell were you?" he asked. "sucking face with Caroline." he laughed. my eyes widened and i quickly denied it making Eddie laugh. Richie smiled and explained to Eddie what happened. the five minute bell rang and i grabbed my stuff while walking behind the two boys. Eddie turned around, "what's your next period?" he asked. "hmm few weeks from now." i replied sarcastically. Richie's eyes widened, noticing what i meant and Eddie started stuttering on his words, "th-that's not what i m-". "save it for your mother, Eddie." i laughed. Richie looked over at me and laughed and then i finally answered Eddie's question, "English. how about you?" they both turned back at me and smiled, "us too.". "cmon, or we'll get locked out again." Richie laughed. we all walked into class and sat towards the back.

-3pm-

everyone threw their papers in the air while the last bell of the year rang. the five of us walked up to to a girl with gorgeous red hair, who Billy smiled at. she smiled back and we all walked outside. i felt something hit my back which made me immediately turn around. i noticed it was the same three guys that were picking on Billy, Stan and Eddie from earlier throwing rocks at everyone that passed. i rolled my eyes and threw one back which made them a bit mad. my eyes widened as i continued to walk behind everyone.
