Caroline's pov.
i sat on my bed finishing a little bit of homework before feeling eyes burn right through me, "may i help you?" i asked, turning over to Richie. "you're just really fucking beautiful." he smiled. i laughed before finishing the last few problems, "done!" i said smiling. he smiled and sat up, "it's 4pm. dance starts at 7pm. should we go over to Bill and Bev's to tell them what's up?" he asked. i nodded and grabbed his hand before running downstairs and out the door.
we pulled into the driveway and i saw Beverly tapping her pencil on a book, through her bedroom window. i smiled and walked up to the door, knocking. Bill's mom opened the door and smiled at us before inviting us in. i always loved going to their house, the place always smelled of fresh baked cookies which was the candles that were lit throughout the house and it was always the perfect temperature which made the place very cozy. we walked in and before she could get a word out of her mouth Richie and i began explain what was going on, "will you please please cover me if she calls?" i asked. she smiled and nodded before hugging both of us. she was always super chill, just like Mrs. Tozier and i loved it considering my mom is somewhat strict. "we better get going. we have to get ready for the dance." i said smiling. she smiled back and kissed my cheek before letting us out. we rode back to my house before Richie kissed me goodbye and went to his house. i walked inside and ran upstairs to begin getting ready.
-2 and a half hour time skip hehe-
i looked in the mirror that sat on my wall before adding the final touch of a small necklace that Richie had given me on our "two week anniversary" i laughed a little to myself before slipping the heels on and picking my lip balm up. i walked downstairs and my mom jumped up to hug me, "be careful of the hair!" i yelled before she laughed and hugged me, "you look gorgeous." she smiled. i smiled back and thanked her before i heard a knock at the door. "Richie." i smiled before running up to the door and opening it, "hi." i said smiling. he looked at me like he had seen a ghost before i snapped me fingers, snapping him out of his daydream, "you uh you look absolutely beautiful." he smiled. a blush drowned my face before i thanked him and we walked out, getting into the car with his mom. she pulled in and dropped us off, waving goodbye. Richie slowly slipped his hand into mine, intertwining our fingers. i smiled at the feelings and walked over to the ticket stand and handed him his, "we're gonna rule the school." i said before laughing and walking in.
a couple hours have passed and now everyone was sitting at a table in the corner talking about a random subject that i had been completely ignoring. Eddie looked upset considering the cheering snob stood him up, "heh Eds, wanna dance?" i said looking up at him. his head perked up before looking at me and then Richie. Richie shrugged before Eddie stood up and walked over to me, "be back." i said, kissing Richie's cheek. "so." i said, trying to make conversation. "sooo.." Eddie said, mocking me. i laughed and shook my head, "you okay?" i asked. he nodded and smiled before the song ended and we went back to our table to continue talking about "how turtles are an underrated animal" i'm honestly very confused at how we got to this topic but i don't question them anymore. many hours passed and it was about midnight now and the amount of people in the gym got smaller and smaller by the minute, "okay so before we leave we have to tell you that we won't be around this weekend." i said before looking up at them. they all questioned it before we explained the whole thing, "don't come running to me if you're pregnant." Stanley said laughing a little. i laughed with him and rolled my eyes, "so my point is, if any of your parents ask where we are, we're at Bev's and Bill's." i said before standing up. "why our house?" Beverly asked, getting a nod from Billy. "because we've talked to your mom and she's cool with it. if my mom calls she's going to say i'm there with y'all." i said before going to hug them, "we've got to go before we miss the bus though. love y'all." i said hugging all of them before we walked out and got into the Mrs. Tozier's car, which had just pulled up. she handed us our bags before Richie looked over at me, "you sure you want to do this?" he asked. i laughed and changed out of my dress into a pair of sleep shorts and a t-shirt, putting the dress in the front seat, "yes." i smiled. he nodded and changed before we pulled into the station, "be safe! love y'all." his mom yelled before we got out. i smiled and hugged her before we walked up to the bus, "holy shit we're really doing this." Richie laughed. i nodded before pecking his lips and walking on the Greyhound, paying for both of our seats and sitting down.
