Caroline's pov.

it was 10:30am before i felt Richie's arm pull out from under me, making my eyes slowly open, "morning." he smiled. i smiled back, "good morning.". "i was thinking, maybe we can go over to Bill's today and then to the arcade. but i mean if you don't want to we don't have to." he smiled. i laughed, "sounds good to me." before getting out of bed and getting ready.

as the day passed we hung out with the Losers and did normal stupid teenager things before the clock rung 7 times, which meant it was time for everyone to go home. everyone said their goodbyes before we rode back to Richie's house to get my things. we walked in and walked through the house before i ran upstairs and got my bags, "thanks for everyone Mrs Tozier!" i said smiling before she kissed my cheek and said goodbye. Richie walked you home before i walked into my house and into my room. a soft knock filled the empty room which obviously made me jump, "coming!" i yelled before running to the door and opening it, "hey mom." i smiled. "hey! how was the sleepover?" she asked, walking in the room and sitting on the bed. i smiled, "it was nice." before picking my bag up and setting it in my closet. "well, i think i'm going to take a shower and head to bed." i said, kissing her cheek and basically pushing her out of the room. she smiled and said goodnight before going back to her room.

-7:34am-

i rolled my eyes at the sound of my alarm going off before aggressively hitting it, turning it off. i sat up and stretched before getting ready for the day and hearing a very loud and annoying knock on my door. i yelled "come in already!" before the door flew open and Richie smiled at me, "you're annoying, ya know?" i said, laughing a little. he smiled, "that's why you love me though." before jumping on my bed. i rolled my eyes before putting my shoes on and grabbing my bag and walking out the door with him, "oh. i have a surprise by the way." he said winking at me. "oh? what is it?" i asked, obviously very curious. "you idiot, that'd ruin the surprise! you'll see after school." he replied before getting on his bike. i sighed and laughed before getting on mine.

all the Losers walked down the crowded halls of the most annoying place ever. High School. once we reached our lockers the bell rang which meant first period. "cmon, we're going to be late lovebirds." Eddie said, laughing at his own joke. i rolled my eyes and replied, "ha. ha." before walking behind him and into the class room. the whole time i wondered what the hell Richie had up his sleeve. i watched the clock as it finally hit the last hour. 3pm?.. already? once again, my daydreaming got the best of me. i grabbed my books, walking out of the last class of the day and over to my locker. Richie slammed his locker door which made me jump, making him laugh. "rude" i said closing mine and smiling. he smiled back before grabbing my hand and walking towards the door, getting stopped by Billy. "we're going t-to the arcade l-later." he smiled. Richie nodded, "okay. i might be there. if i'm not at home then just go without me." he said, pulling me out of the school. i turned around and looked at Billy, shrugging and laughing at his reaction.

a few minutes passed, "can i open my eyes now, loser?" i asked Richie. "yeh just a minute, Jesus woman.." he said before stopping, "okay now!" he smiled. i opened my eyes, seeing the same place Richie had taken me to the first time we had a "date". my jaw dropped before i sat down on the picnic blanket, "you outdid yourself Tozier, it's gorgeous!" i smiled. he smiled back before sitting down next to me, " okay the reason i brought you here is because i wanted to tell you something." he said looking down at his hands. honestly those words worried me, "yeh?" i asked, my voice shaking a little. "okay so my dad gave my mom something when they were our age. this this called a promise ring. and his dad did it before him and so on but like they said they all had this feeling when they met the one. i never understood what they meant until i met you, its like the most amazing feeling in the world. i'm always happy and like..i don't know..maybe it's a whole "first love" thing. but Caroline. i feel like you're really the one. so..this ring was my mom's until like 10pm last night and so right here and right now i want to ask you, when we become of age will you be my wife?". the words that came out of his mouth absolutely shocked me, i can tell you that much. but the words that came out of my mouth didn't shock me, "Richie, are you like 100% serious? i mean yes i love you and yes i accept it but like do you seriously love me in that way?" i said, smiling at him. he just simply nodded. "then hell yes, Richie Tozier." i said, kissing him. he smiled before kissing me back and pulling me into a hug.

hours went by before we noticed it was 8pm and that our parents were most definitely worried about us. we said our goodbyes before walking back home and getting ready for bed. as i changed into an old t-shirt Richie had left in my bag i looked at my desk to see the small journal that i had always been worried about. i stood up and picked it up before beginning to write in it,

"so, it's been awhile since i've written in this but i think it's safe to say today was the best day ever. today you could technically say i'm engaged. i mean..not technically but i did make a promise to marry the love of my life one day. cliche? hell yeh it is but i've never been happier. the past year had been crazy. who knew a homeschooled girl that had no friends all her life would have a promise ring at the age of 14? crazy..i know. but i'm glad it's with the person i love the most. if you ever read this Richie Tozier, thank you for everything. i love you."
