In another part of the small town, Emma, Alaric, and Ophelia were walking down the street with Kaleb following behind them, "How'd I get stuck on the senior citizens' half of the tour?" Kaleb asked, causing the trio of adults to scoff loudly, clearly offended.

"I beg your pardon?" Ophelia questioned Kaleb with a raised brow.

"Excuse me," Alaric remarked, sharing a look with Ophelia and then Emma.

"Or y'all just needed a fourth wheel to shield you from all this awkwardness?" Kaleb continued on, causing Ophelia to give him a confused look.

"There's no such thing as a fourth wheel, dumbass," She remarked, rolling her eyes, "And how are the three of us being awkward? What is there to be awkward about?"

"Yeah, we're not awkward," Alaric spoke up, taking Ophelia's side.

"Not awkward at all," Emma added in, shaking her head.

"As they said, no one's awkward," Ophelia continued on, only to frown when she saw Kaleb suddenly stop walking.

"What is it?" Ophelia asked in concern, only to have her eyes widen in shock when she began to hear the same thing Kaleb was.

"What's wrong?" Alaric asked the duo concerned, stopping before turning to face them.

"Hold up," Kaleb told Alaric, "I'm trying to hear something."

"I said no vampire powers," Alaric reminded Kaleb, earning an eye roll from Ophelia, "We're trying to keep a low profile here."

"We can't turn our ears off, Ric," Ophelia responded, continuing to try and figure out what the buzzing noise was.

"It's so faint," Kaleb commented, clearly trying to figure it out as well, "Maybe like a a generator? On the edge of town?"

"Who knows, but something's humming for sure." Ophelia spoke up, only to have her eyes widen in shock when she saw a large group of what looked like bees from afar, "That's no generator."

"Run," Alaric told the group, his eyes wide in alarm, "Run. Run!"

Not needing to be told again, the group of four immediately began to run, in the direction of the minivan.

Meanwhile, in the Town's Square, Josie, Valerie, Lizzie, and Hope all stared up at the sky in concern when they saw all of the bugs flying, "This is plague-y, right?" Hope asked the group of girls, "It seems plague-y."

Watching as numerous people ran screaming past them, Valerie let out a sigh in defeat, "It's definitely plague-y." She responded to Hope's question, nodding her head.

In the street, Alaric lifted up the keys to the van as he pressed the unlock button, "Get in the van. Get in the van!" Alaric told the group quickly, "Go, go, go, go, go!"

"Whoo!" Ophelia exhaled deeply as she tried her best to squeeze in between Kaleb and Alaric as the human male closed the door to the van.

"Guess we're in the right place," Kaleb commented, looking over at Emma, who looked extremely freaked out as the bugs surrounded the outside of the van.

"Yeah," Emma replied, trying to keep calm.

"These hornets, they're indigenous to Africa, or Southwest Asia," Alaric spoke up and Ophelia smiled slightly, shaking her head at his geekiness, "I mean, they shouldn't even be on this continent."

"You're literally getting geekier by the minute, Dr. S." Kaleb remarked, causing Ophelia to quietly laugh.

"Leave him be, Kaleb," She whispered to the young vampire, "Let him embrace his geek side."
