We were soon walking up to my apartment door, and I took a moment to dig through my bag to retrieve my keys. I quickly unlocked the door and stepped inside with Hoseok scurring in after me, and I closed the door and locked it behind me. I slipped off my shoes and walked to the kitchen to put away my groceries. I finished quickly, knowing Hoseok would be waiting. I walked back towards the living room to see him looking around. There was a small sparkle in his eyes as he took in the place.
It wasn't much in my opinion; a simple three bed, two baths with a medium living room and medium kitchen. It was fairly cheap compared to the other places around here, but it wasn't like I could do better even with my two jobs. My couch was comfortable, which was a necessity as sometimes I can be too tired to make it to my room after a long day. The walls were a pale peach which is much better than a gross eggshell white you see in most apartments. Thankfully I had a neighbor moving out around the time I was moving in, so I could score his TV and a couple of bookcases.
"Hoseok?" I called softly, trying not to spook him.
He flinched anyway but turned to look at me; a slight blush formed on his cheeks. Cute.
"You don't have to stand there. You can make yourself comfortable," I said, walking over to him.
He nodded shyly and looked at the ground. Now that we were in better lighting, I could tell just how handsome he was. His lips were full and pouty, his shoulders slumped, but he seemed delicate like a dancer. It's crazy to believe he was on the streets. He looks like the type of person who could easily make friends.
A moment later, I was pulled from my thoughts by a low grumbling. My head tilted a bit at the sound, and his face flushed as he wrapped his arms around his stomach. I'm so stupid; he must be starving.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly, his eyes glazed over as if he was about to cry.
"No, no, don't be. I'll make you something. Do you want anything in particular?"
He shook his head, "No, anything is fine. I'm not very picky."
"Alright. Would you like to wash up? It'll help to warm you up a little bit."
He nodded.
"Follow me. I'll show you to your room," I smiled at him and walked towards the back of my apartment, where the bedrooms were. I stopped at the first door on the right and walked in.
"This can be your room if you want it. I'll leave some clothes on the bed for you. By the time you get out, dinner will be ready. Call me if you need anything," Hoseok nodded, giving me a small smile as I walked out, closing the door behind me.
I walked across the hall to my room and looked through my drawers for some clothes that could fit him. Luckily, I found a few of my ex's clothes hidden away in the back of my closet. I grabbed a pair of black joggers, some thankfully clean underwear, and a grey t-shirt. I walked them over to Hoseok's room and put my ear to the door. I heard the shower going, so I tip-toed into the room and left the clothes on the bed. I left and went off to the kitchen to start dinner. I looked through my cabinets and decided to make something simple but filling from the scraps in my cupboards.
I wonder why he was sitting there. He looked so lost. He wouldn't take his hood off either, but he was probably just cold. It is the first day of Spring, after all. I hope those clothes fit him. He doesn't look that big, but he is tall. Well, taller than me.
