3 - A reward after a bad luck

It's been 15 years since we lost contact with each other. I'm not over the fact that why that day ever existed.

Flashback

It's been years since she left but we still update each other on our own lives. Everything went well ... that's what she thought. My family has issues for the past months, my mom was the only person I could trust since she was the only person who took care off me. Well my father, he wasn't the best, he cheated on my mom with another women and my mom kicked him out. But every time he got drunk, he came back into our home and shout and argue with my mom.

Until one day, he barged into our house and started to become aggressive towards my mom, I could hear glass and many things being broken as I was inside my room calling Katy. He suddenly barged to me room, ran up to me like a maniac, pulled me off my bed and kept throwing me across the room. Katy was still on the call, she heard everything and I could hear her crying and asking me if I'm fine. My father grab the phone, broke it in half and stepped on it. Those action angered me, my blood was boiling at this moment, I quickly went to grab the house phone and called the police. Afterwards, he was arrested and me and my mom didn't have to see him.

Even though we didn't have to see him, I still was traumatized and went to see a therapist with my mom. It didn't fully recovered me but it sort of improved me, a bit. But I lost contact with Katy.

End of flashback

Not many thing has change, just the fact that I am living alone and I am the CEO of my own company. My mom went to live with my grandma since she needed care but I couldn't be there for her.

As I work on my computer, I heard a knock on the door, I told the person to come in and it was my co-workers, she told me that I should be at the interview for my secretary spot since it is almost time and I needed a secretary. This way, it is easier, so I can have help but the past secretaries have never lasted longer than two weeks, this is why I don't really expect high expectations for my next secretary.

I packed all my stuff and left the room to the interview. It has been an hour since the interviews has start and what can I say, it was boring, all the interviewee are the same. We are onto our last three interviewees and I just can't wait to leave this place and go home. Maybe next time, I'll just tell my co-workers to just do it for me.

The three final interviewee came in and sat in front of us, on the three chairs. There are two males and one female but I didn't pay attention to this facial appearance, I was just too tired. My other co-worker, siting beside me were assigned to interview the two males while I was assign to the female.

The interview for the males were done and it was my turn. So I kept asking questions about why she wants this job while only looking at her resume, not bothering to look at her face. I was surprised that she didn't fail any question and after the interview, I look up and said "thank yo-U!*voice crack*". My voice crack making everyone turn their attention to me and I made eye contact with the female. Her face look so familiar, her eyes, nose, smile and squirtle-like face, I swear I've seen her before, Katy? I sat down feeling embarrassed, confused but then the interviewees left.

As soon as they left, I quickly check her resume profile, scanning for her name. Kim Yerim?
