Tony's POV
School flew by quickly, and before I knew it, I was on the basketball court, waiting for Tina. She was taking forever and I was getting impatient. I suddenly felt my phone buzz in my pocket. It was a text from my sister.
Hey Tony! I know we had plans to practice today, but Ryan has a surprise for me...can we do it tomorrow?
I wasn't shocked that she chose her boyfriend over me. Although I have never approved of Ryan dating Tina, he made her happy, and that was enough for me not to try and break them up.
As I was walking home, I noticed a girl with light brown hair, a grey sweater, and cat ears sitting on a park bench. She looked familiar, but I didn't search my mind, only because I realized she was crying. I sprinted over to the bench and took a seat next to her.
Kat's POV
Today had been rough. There was a group of kids who were bullying me because of my shyness. They were bugging me all day, which led me to crying on this bench.
As I slowly lowered my head to dry my face, I saw an orange and black tiger hoodie coming my direction. My first thought was Tina, but I soon realized just how wrong I was...
"Hey...you okay?" Tony asked after he sat down.
"Y-yeah...I-I'm fine..." I managed to say through tears. I quickly wiped my face and turned away from Tony. I didn't want him to know that I'm still the shy kid he met in Daycare.
"Are you sure? You seem pretty upset. He questioned.
All I could do in response was nod. If I tried to speak, the tears would stream down my face again.
Tony's POV
We sat in silence for awhile, neither one of us looking at the other. I could see that she was hurt, and since she had that familiar vibe, I was worried. Why couldn't I place my finger on it? I finally decided to ask.
"Do we...know each other?" As I asked this, I saw her tense. Her head cautiously lifted to face me, and when I saw her sky blue eyes, my mind clicked.
"Kat?" She nodded slowly. My heart began to pound. It was her. After all these years, she was here, right in front of me.
Kat's POV
A grin grew on Tony's face. I wanted to turn away to stop him from seeing me blush, but he pulled my into a hug. It took me a second to process what was happening, but once I did, I hugged him back.
"You're actually here..." I heard him say. I also heard sniffing. He was crying too...
I broke the hug, only because I wanted to look him in his emerald green eyes. I started to smile, and he noticed my blush. He chuckled, and then wiped one of my tears. When did our relationship become so perfect?
