“Um.. uh..,” I stumbled over my words. You can recover from this, Marie! Quick, just say your name! “Hello,” I said coolly, “My name is Marie. It’s nice to meet you.” I smiled a flirty smile.

“Well then Marie,” he smiled as he said my name, “Where are you trying to get to?”

“Headmaster’s office. I need to pick up my schedule. And then try to figure out where my classes are…” I trailed off in hopes he would offer to tour me around the school.

“Oh! I can take you there. And maybe we’ll talk the headmaster into excusing us from our classes so I can show you around the campus.” He smiled at me again.

“I’d like that. Thank you.”

I looked into his eyes. They were a gorgeous blue eye color, similar to mine, but mine were not nearly as bright or deep as his. I began to notice more about him. He had blonde hair like me as well, but his was closer to a white, as were mine was much more of a golden color. He was a medium height, about 60 centimeters taller than me. That made him about 1.67 meters. I realized in that moment that he probably had already noticed that I was staring at him. I looked back at his eyes to see where they were looking. To my surprise, they were still fixed to my eyes. I felt myself turn pink, and I smiled and looked at the ground.

“You have really beautiful eyes,” he whispered just loud enough for me to hear.

“You do too.” I blurted out.

“Yeah?”

“Yes. You also have a very nice smile. I like it.”

“You really think so? I don’t like it too much. My teeth are all crooked and messed up…”

“But that’s what makes it beautiful.” The words just flowed out of my mouth. I didn’t have any control over what was being said anymore.

A bell rang out, signaling that it was time for school to begin.

With a smile on his face, and his eyes locked into mine, he said, “We should probably get that schedule of yours now.”

“Ha ha, yeah.” I laughed.

I pulled out my phone from my bra when Niall wasn’t looking and checked the time. 5 minutes had passed since I had almost sat down on the bench in defeat. 5 minutes!? It seemed like I spent an eternity in his eyes... I quickly shoved my phone back into its place and bent down to get my stuff from under the bench. But when I turned to grab it, it was gone. I looked up to see Niall with my backpack on and my books under his arm. He held out his hand to help me get off the ground. I took it carefully and stood up slowly.

“I gotcha, don’t worry.”

I giggled like a little girl and turned pink again. Once I stood straight up, I went to grab my stuff from him.

“Don’t even bother trying. Your stuff is now mine forever. Muahaha,” he joked.

“Well there must be something I can do to get back, right?” I playfully asked.

“Course there is.” His smile was mischievous.

“Aren’t you gonna tell me what it is?”

“Hmm… maybe.” I gave him my very best puppy dog face. “Oh com’n now. You can’t use that against me. It’s too adorable.”

I didn’t even turn pink that time. I was entirely red. I giggled and looked down at my feet. He grabbed my chin and moved it so that we locked eyes once again. “Ah. That’s much better.”

We stayed like that for what seemed like forever.

Finally he said, “We really do need to go get your schedule. Ha ha.”
