it's been a year since mark and lucas got married, and you went back to chicago.

you knew it was bound to happen someday-seeing the love of your life falling in love with never someone else, but you never knew it was going to be this angsty. you tried to comfort your best friend, jaehyun, but nothing was helping. you pitied him because he's in the same place where you were months ago, heartbroken over the love of your life getting married to someone who was not you.

you looked over to see if he was sleeping, hoping that he will cope better than you had previously. you got up quietly pulling the covers over him and turning off the lamp. you went to the living room and slept there for the night.

"i'm glad you stayed with me instead of moving in with yuta and momo, them offering you to live with them is fuck up." you looked over to him. "does he know? that-you're, you know, gay-and have feelings for him?"

jaehyun stared at his beverage, "man, he never knew, and he doesn't need to know. i don't ant to ruin our friendship. you know how he is, (name), if he ever found out that i was gay he'd drop our friendship. it's tough that he's homophobic as hell, but he's a good person."

you hummed in response, "i can't belive we're turning twenty seven this year, no wonder why everyone around us is getting married. the sad part is, everyone but us, jaehyun. if things turn out to be the same in three years, i might consider asking you to marry me."

"sounds good."

"at least there will be a person there for me, holding my hand on my deathbed-or calling the police if you find me dead from who knows what," you said, planning out both of your guy's future.

"research says people who live alone die faster," jaehyun stated, trying to raise the atmosphere.

"what the hell, jae," you mumbled, hitting is head lightly. "what if i get cancer before i turn thirty?"

"then let's get married tomorrow," he smiled cheekily.

"tomorrow?"

"tomorrow."

there was no celebration, no fancy suits, no flowers, no rings, no strings attached. both you and jaehyun got married and got your papers approved by law. people were shocked when they found out that you guys were newlyweds. yuta was disappointed when he found out, he cut all connections with both you and jaehyun. jaehyun was heartbroken for a year and a half, but he soon moved on. it was easy being with each other, you both can agree on that. it took you two years to get over mark, to permanently forget about your feelings for him. it also took two years for you and jaehyun to fall in love with each other, to move out of that hell hole and move to his dream house in malibu.

you back hugged your husband while he was making coffee for the two of you, "i'm so glad we agreed to get married. though, i wish we had a big ass wedding." he turned to you and grinned, showing his gorgeous dimples.

you rolled your eyes, "we can't change anything now, jaehyun."

"i know, but let's go shop for rings later on today, ok?" jaehyun requested, pouting a little.

"yeah, whatever, but after we finish unpacking."

"deal," he pecked your lips. "i love you, (name)."

"i love you too, jaehyun."
