*Hermione's POV*
I sighed and looked around. I did not know where I was at. It was so bright and white. I looked over my shoulder and saw Harry and Ron standing there. I could not believe that I was seeing them. It has been forever since I have seen their faces. I could feel tears coming down. I quickly whipped them and ran up to them both.
"Am I dreaming?" I asked looking between Harry and Ron.
"This isn't a dream Hermione, but you are...." Ron was trying to say.
"I am dead, aren't I?" I asked already knowing the answer.
Harry nodded and said,
"You used so much your magic that your body doesn't know if it can keep functioning. You are so much powerful then you think. You overwhelmed yourself."
I looked at Harry and said,
"But how?"
"Hermione you are so naive, but you are so powerful. I can't ask for a better person keeping the future safe. You are amazing and I can't ask for a better best friend in this world. Hermione, we are so thankful for you taking up this mission and risking your life." Harry said smiling.
"Yeah Hermione, but we want to let you know that we want you to live your life and find love. Fred would want you to find love again and know that you would find it. We all are watching over you and love you. You are our fallen angel that escaped."
I tried to keep the tears back, but I just couldn't. I ran up to Harry and Ron. I did not want to leave them. I missed everyone so much. But I knew I had to go back. This was my only chance to change the future to how it should be.
"I love you both so much. I can't ask for two best friends/ brothers ever. I will make the future better for all of us. I promise you." I told them.
"We know you will. Promise us you will also live your life." Harry stated.
"If I survive this all." I stated.
"You will survive this. You are Hermione Jean Granger. You can survive anything. You are incredible and powerful. We survived all this time because of you! Don't cry we will all see each other again in this new future. I am sure that our younger selves will find each other." Ron spoke up.
I couldn't believe I got to see my two best friends for one last time. I whipped the tears away from my face and felt a pull going back. I heard noise and tried to open my eyes. There was bright lights around me. I slowly open my eyes. I looked and saw a group of people there. I smiled to myself and tried to sit up. I sat there listening to them talk.
"Will she ever wake up? Have you ever seen someone like that? She has so much power within her. I haven't seen that before." Charles spoke up.
I smiled to myself and then heard someone else speak.
"I mean you should have seen her at the school. The students look up to her and trust her so much. They know that she is powerful and has a leader personality. We have seen it." Fabian said.
"You all are too sweet. But I am not that powerful or amazing." I said with a smirk.
They all turned around to me and bombard me with question. I gave them a look and then said,
"One question at a time!"
"How are you doing? Are you feeling?" Charles asked.
"I think that I am fine. Just a little tired and weak. Is there any strengthening potion around?" I asked.
Dorea came in with two potion and handed them to me. I thanked him and then quickly swallowed them. Fabian and Gideon snickered at my face. I looked at them. They both gave me a smile and I could be mad at them. I looked over to Kingsley and asked,
"What happened?"
"After the attack in the alley you passed out and Charles brought you back here. Do you not remember?" Dorea asked
"No, I remember I just was wondering what happened after that. Is everyone alright? Did anyone else get hurt?" I asked.
Fabian started to laugh and smirked at me. He then said,
"Oh, she is just fine. There is the Hermione I know and love. You always care for others then yourself. But to put your concern to rest, everyone is fine. You protected everyone like always. Just a few scratches and bruises. Nothing big like you."
I nodded and let a breath out. I was worried that someone got hurt. I smiled at them all and you could see the looks I was getting. But I did not care. I cared for these people. Dorea smiled at Charles and asked,
"Would you like to move up to a room and rest somewhere more comfortable?"
"Oh, I could protrude onto your hospitality." I said politely.
"Of course, you are not protruding. You will stay here until you are at your strength again. That way we know you will be safe." Charles spoke up.
I was surprised at what he was saying. I thought this man didn't trust me. But I guess I was wrong. I nodded and tried to stand up. Fabian and Gideon were on each side of me. We followed Dorea up to a room and it was beautiful. I looked around while the twins helped me into my bed.
"If you need anything just ask for Sparks. She is our house elf. She will be excited to help you." Dorea said by the door.
I nodded and saw that she left. I sighed and then looked at the quiet lonely room. I could hear noise down the hall. I smiled to myself and knew who was making that noise. I must not be that far from the Marauders.
I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I waited quietly for them to enter my room. I could hear argument coming from the door. Remus voice and Sirius' were the loudest. Right then the door opened and there stood the boys. I gave them a look and said,
"You can come in. Not just stand there."
"So, you are part of the Order?" James asked.
I nodded. I looked over to Sirius and saw the look he had. He looked hurt and betrayed. It hurt me to see the effect I cause on him. The trust that was broken. I sighed and said,
"I couldn't tell you. It was for your own safety and mine. You all are still in school and underage. This war is..."
"Is what? Don't tell us that it has nothing to do with us because it does. We all are affected by this bloody war. Plus, when we graduate from school, we all will be in the middle of it. Aren't you the one that taught us that we all have a part in this crazy messed up world! That the littlest person can make a big difference!" Sirius spatted emotionally.
I did not blame for his out burst because I have been in the same place as they are right now. Not feeling like you can make a difference but smacked right in the middle of it without a choice. All the boys had the similar expressions. They looked hurt. Sirius stormed out of the room. James gave me a look of sympathy and followed him.
"Give them time. They will understand why you did it. You were just trying to protect us. It's part of being who you are. Always protecting the ones, you care about." Remus said patting my hand and gave me a smile.
I watch him walk out and I was once again alone. I looked around my empty room and sighed. This was going to be one long winter break.
