I threw my bag on the floor and picked up the note.
Saffron/Colby
Come into the backyard when you get inside. Watch your step
Love, Mom
I grabbed Colby and Sam's arms and pulled them into the backyard. It was decorated with a bunch of lights and decorations. "Mom whats all this?" Colby asked, picking at the lights and flowers. "Oh Sam! Glad you could Join. Colby remember that thing I told you this morning?" "Yeah what about it?" "This is it!" She pulled out a paper and handed it to me. "Whats this..." I said. Flipping through the pages, I found a key on the last page. I took it off and waved it in Colby's face. "You have a new apartment!" She exclaimed. I jumped up from my seat. "No you didnt!" I threw myself on top of her and hugged her. "Yes I did! That way you can have your party at your house." "Saffron this is great!" Colby spun me around and hugged me. "So now you can do whatever you want and go wherever you want since im not there." "But how will we get there?" I asked. "Look on the very last page." She smiled. Colby quickly picked up the packet and went to the last page. "You got us a car!?" He shouted. "You already have your lisense and of course you couldn't drive my car so... might as well get you one." "Where did you find all this money at!" "I've been working extra hours for about two months." "That explains it!" I shouted, hitting Colby's arm. Colby smiled and nodded. "Go look outside!" His mom ordered. I was the first one to run out the house. In the driveway, two cars sat. A sliver one and a black one with a green pearlesent. Colby ran to the silver one and sat inside. "Awesome!" He shouted. "Here are the directions to your house. Its not too far from here." She handed me a paper with an adress on it. I gave her a hug. "Thank you for everything." "You're welcome sweetheart. It was nice having you. Take care of colby for me." I wiped a tear off her face and nodded. "Ill treat him right." I hugged her again and sat in my car. Sam sat in the passengers seat. "Uh what are you doing?" "Colby said he wanted to be alone. So im riding with you." He explained, pulling on his seatbelt. I sighed and started the car. "How long have you two known eachother?" Sam questioned. I looked out from the corner of my eye. "Why?" "He always talks about you. I wanna know whats the deal?" "Since elementary." I simply said. "hm..." He slouched in his seat. The car ride was awkward. I focused on the rode, hands tightly on the wheel, and radio on a decent volume. "Ahem so uh..." He continued. "Ya like colbs?" I pressed ny foot on the brakes and looked at Sam. "What?" "Do you like him?" "What do you mean 'Do you like him?'" "Like... more than a friend." "Why do you care?" "Im just tryna help colby out." "With?" "That shouldnt be said." "If that shouldnt be said then I donr think my answer should be said either." I took my key out the ignition and unlocked the car. "Sorry I asked." He mumbled. I felt bad after yelling at Sam. I walked in the house and saw a huge living room and a small staircase. "Saffron come check this out!" Colby yelled. I ran to the backyard where there was a pool and a hot tub. "cool..." I mumbled. I walkdd upstairs and looked in the rooms. The furniture was already set up. I stepped in my room and saw a large, walk-in closet, my furniture, and a bathroom. I looked around and saw a large window displayed on my wall. I open the blinds, getting a great view of the city. "Saffron! Saffron? Are you okay?" Someone called. I looked behind and saw colby. "Yea... just thinking..." Colby stepped forward and said "Look at that view..." He joined me next to the window and stared out. "Its beautiful..." He said. "Yeah..." "Is something bothering you?" I looked up at colby and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Im just thinking." "Bout what?" "Our lives are gunna change tomorrow... We aren't high schoolers anymore... We're adults." I said into his chest. "Whats so bad about that?" "Nothing so bad... Just..." "What?" "We have this huge house all to ourselves." "Theres a lot we can do in here." "Yea I know... Im just not used to it." I looked out the window, keeping my arms around Colby. "Dont worry. We're safer here actually." "What makes you say that?" "Well..." Colby thought for a minute and put his arms around me. "I dont know... Just... I just feel safer here..." He rubbed ny shoulders and squeezed me tighter. "But like I said... there's a lot to do here." "Like what?" "We have a pool... I know how you've always wanted a pool..." "Yeah..." "There are other things too..." "Like?" "We have eachother." I looked up at colby and smiled. "For company." "Well I was thinking something else but sure company." He chuckled. "What were you thinking?" Colby stared up at the window and didnt move. "Hello..." I waved my hand in Colby's face. I let him go and studied him carefully. "Hey... Colby..." I said, lightly slapping his face. "That hurts.." He chuckled, grabbing ny wrists. He didnt let go. I opened ny eyes wide and looked around. He pulled me closer towards him and smiled. He grabbed ny face in his hands and kissed ne roughly. "I've been waiting to do that for a long time..." He said inbetween kisses. "Me too..." I replied. "Hey guys do- Oh sorry... Didnt know you were busy...." Sam said, stepping back. Colby looked behind and smiled. "Take my car." Colby threw Sam the keys and watched as they fell to the floor. "Close the door." He ordered. Sam put his head down and chuckled silently to hisself. He walked out and closed the door. I pushed Colby on the bed and sat on top of him, kissing him again. I moved back, feeling a bump. "You're gross..." I grumbled, taking off Colby's shirt. "Hey... I cant help it." He chuckled.
