I looked at myself in the mirror one last time and adjusted my shirt. I fixed up a little bit of my makeup and grabbed my phone off the charger. I walk to the door only to find colby standing in front of me. "Hi." He smiled. I pushed past him and walked downstairs, grabbing some bread and putting it in the oven to toast. "Saffron im sorry..." I looked at colby and held my breath. "Sorry doesnt work, Colby. I really like him and you probably traumatized him! Why would you do that to me? Ruining my chances of having fun. Say you were drunk and im leaving this house. If you dont have anything to convince me when I get back im moving out. And im leaving it as that." "Cmon dont you think the whole moving out thing is unecessary? It was a mistake..." "Looks like you're full of mistakes Colby... I trusted you and you ruined everything..." "Im so so sorry, Saf... I cant lose you... You mean a lot to me..." "I mean a lot to you yet you scared the shit out of Jason at the party last night." Colby leaned up against the counter and brushed his hair out his face. "Can you at least tell me what you're doing today?" I took my bread out the toaster and grabbed some butter. "Hanging out with Jason." "But you just met him... he could be a murderer or a rapist or-" "Thats why im hanging out with him... Ever heard of getting to know someone? You should try it." I quickly finished eating and put my plate in the sink. "Its noon... I'll be back around 3 or 4 so that gives you time to think. I'll see you later." I walked out the house and up to Jason. "Hey beautiful." He said, taking his hands out of his pockets. I chuckled and gave him a hug. "Ready?" I nodded my head and wat hed as he opened the door for me. I sat in the car. He sat in the drivers seat and stared at me. "uh what is he-" "Ignore him... Just drive." Jason started the car. "So where are we going?" "Somewhere special." "Special as in?" "Its just a park but not just any park." I raised my eyebrow and stared at him. "What?" He chuckled. "Im watching you, Jason..." "Well duh of course you are but why?" "You're an idiot..." I pushed him softly and smiled. "You have a beautiful smile..." He pointed out. I looked away to hide my blushing. "Thank you..." I whispered.. He pulled up to a large park where kids and dogs surrounded. "This is it..." He sighed. "Wow.... its huge." I whispered, admiring the beautiful scenery. "You sure this is a park?" I chuckled. "Positive. Cmon!" He pulled me back and linked his hand with mine. "This way..." He whispered. He pulled me to a large tree, surrounded by others to form a shape I couldnt think of. He sat down and patted the grass next to him. "Sit!" He said, tugging on my arm. He pulled out a cooler from behind a tree and opened it, revealing some drinks and a couple sandwhiches. He put his hands on his knees and looked up. "Ah!" He pulled out his phone and played some soft music. "I knew I was forgetting something." He smiled, placing his phone down and handing me a sandwhich. I unwrapped it and looked at Jason. "Whats in it?" He took a bite out of his and showed me. "Lettuce, chicken, bacon mayonnaise, and some other stuff I forget. I didnt make this" He laughed. I squinted my eyes. "Try it... You'll like it." He said, pushing my hand toward my mouth. I bit off a small peice. "How is it?" He asked. "amazing..." I mumbled, grabbing another bite. I didnt talk much while we ate since I was too busy enjoying this strange sandwhich.
I wiped my face with a napkin and set everything aside. "Good?" "Yea... Thank you so much." "Im glad you liked it." I looked around. I lookwd straight ahead, seeing the ground as it came to an end. I quickly got up and ran over to the ledge. "What are you doing?" He asked. "I like over here better!" I yelled back. I let my legs hang off the edge and placee my hands beside me, slightly moving forward to see what was underneath me. "So, Saffron... Tell me about you..." He cooed. "What do you mean about me?" "Anything... Your birthday... anything you would want me to know... You said we should get to know eachother right?" He said, fixing his quiff. I laughed through my nose. "True..." I already heard enough about him but I wasnt sure how I felt about giving myself away to such an attractive boy who doesnt deserve me.
A tear rolled down my cheek. He quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the ledge and back to the blanket that was laid out on the grass. "Talk to me..." He whispered, placing his hand on my cheek and wiping off the tear that had slipped from my eye. "Then one day... My bestfriend... she just went too crazy and... sex... thats all she did and I lived with her... Yea im only 18 but... I had no choice. I ran away from my house because my parents were fighting. I didnt seem to mind. Neither did they... I lost everything... I had to live with colby and his mom and brother for a whole year. I got a boyfrie.d during that year..." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, letting the tears fall down my cheeks harder. "What happened..." He asked. He scooted next to me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. "Everything was going good untill he found out that I lived with colby and his family. He used me to get close with colby... then with Sam... then with their friend Jori. He used me for sex and that was it... He never loved me. All those things he said were fake... He almost raped me but... I didnt let him." "Where is he?" "Jail now... They said hes gonna be in there for another 20 years I think... Didnt even graduate." There was a long silence but it wasnt awkward. It was comforting. He scooted closer and grabbed my hand again. "Its okay... Y-You're safe now..." He whispered. He kissed my cheek and looked out. I rested my head on his shoulder as he ran his fingers through my hair. "Im glad we got to talk..." He whispered. I could hear a smile spread across his face. "Me too..." I replied. He picked up his phone. "I think its time to go home... Its almost 4" "Oh yeah you're right." I stood up and helped him clean. "Think you can carry this to the car?" He asked, handing me the blanket. I softly smiled and nodded, grabbing it out og his hands and folding it smaller. He took me away from the trees and held my hand in his, everyonce in a while wiping off any tears I still had coming down. "Your makeup is running." He chuckled. I quickly wiped my face but gave up. "Oh im only going home and I dont have anything else... but thank you for telling me..." I smiled. He put his arm around my shoulder, causing me to lift up my hand and hold his as it was rested on my shoulder.
"I really like you..." he whispered, opening the car door and setting me inside. "Me too..." I said before shutting the door. He got back in the car and drove me back home. "I had a great time, Jason." I said, pulling his large body closer and against mine. "How about again tomorrow night? Movies and dinner at my place. What do you say?" He said, gripping onto my shoulders. "I'd me more than happy to..." He hugged me again and pushed me towards the door. "I think someone's waiting for you." He chuckled. Colby was standing at the door, calm with a smile on his face. "Oh right... I'll text you later."
I walked up to colby and squinted. "What did you do?" "Something..." He chuckled. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards the basement. "turn around." He ordered. I faced the door of the basement. Everything went black. To my guessing, he put a blindfold on. "Im still here." He whispered. He pulled me down the steps and placed his hand on mine. He put in on the doorknob and helped me open the door. I walked in, where he took off the blindfold.
