"Let go of me! I don't belong here! I'm not fucking crazy!!" A woman shouts, her voice echoing throughout the corridors.

I look over the balcony, to see two guards struggling to keep the woman still. The woman's hair is disheveled, with a few crumpled leaves stuck between some strands. Her clothes are covered in dirt, and everything about her seems off. I rush back into the nurse's office and grab the first sedative in sight. I run out of the office and down the stairs in time to sedate the patient. She winces in pain at first, but she soon begins to fade out of consciousness.

The guards look at me appreciatively and drag her down the hall. I turn around, and Sister Clare is standing in front of me.

"Blake. There you are." I manage a smile, despite my uneasy feelings towards her.

"I need you to take over the clinic for tomorrow. Elaine left sick, and you are the most skilled in medicine behind Elaine." She tells me, and I can't decide whether she just complimented me or not.

"Yes. Of course." I agree, as if I had any other choice. She forces a smile and stalks off.

I had no idea I had been holding my breath, until I sigh heavily. It's been an unbelievably long day, and I want nothing more than a good nights sleep. Although, it's unlikely with my thoughts keeping me up every night.

JAMES' POV

I'm surprised to see Blake sitting at the desk, working on paperwork, instead of Elaine, when I walk into the clinic.

I clear my throat, and she looks up at me. Her lips are parted slightly, and her glasses have fallen down to the bridge of her nose. It makes her look kind of cute.

"Can I help you?" She asks, returning to her work almost immediately. In the few times I've spoken with her, she refuses to make eye contact with me. It humors me, actually.

"Yes. I need my medicine." My tone comes out in a more sarcastic tone, than I had intended.

"Is it already 9:00? Oh my God." She scatters her paperwork into a messy pile and pulls a key ring out of her pocket. She frantically unlocks the medicine cabinet, as she begins searching for my name.

When she does finally find the bottle with my name printed on it, she struggles opening it. I would laugh, but I'm not that cruel. I wait patiently, and eventually she places the small, blue pills in the palm of my hand. I swallow them effortlessly, and I have to open my mouth, so she knows I have taken my medication.

I walk over to the door, getting ready to leave, but I turn around to say something to her.

"You know. You shouldn't use God's name in vein. Have you forgotten that this place in run by nuns?" I smirk, shutting the door behind me.

My guard is waiting for me outside of the clinic, with an annoyed expression on his face. Most people here hate my guts, including my guard, because of what I've been accused of, so I try not to take it personally.

I'm taken to the cafeteria for breakfast, although I won't actually eat the food served. Everyday meal here is like the mystery meat from school. So, I don't eat often. In fact, nobody really does.

I scope out the first empty table, in the far corner of the room. One thing I do enjoy about this place is that none of the patients bother me. Maybe they're scared, or maybe they're so far off they just don't know where they are. I don't really care. I pull a cigarette out of the pocket of my jumpsuit and light it. I take a drag and release it back into the air, in small puffs.

The doors swing open, and I divert my gaze to the cowering figure standing behind two guards. It's a woman, and she looks utterly terrified. She looks normal, for the most part. But I guess we all do, when we first arrive. Time changes a person in here.

Her guards leave her standing in the front of the room, like a lost girl in a super market. From where I'm sitting, I can tell she's trembling. She stares, wide-eyed, at all of the patients.

When her eyes fall upon mine, the look in her eyes change. She marches over to my table, taking the seat directly in front of me.

She leans in close to me, looking around to make sure no one is listening to what she's about to say.

"You didn't kill those women."
