Saeran's P.O.V

"Thanks... I guess." She's thanking me...? I mean, maybe I did save her from jumping off, or falling, but I was never thanked by someone for anything in my life before, other than my Hyung.

Of course that's only normal, since most people in my life would never have anything to be thankful for with having to meet me.

To be appreciated this way... even if she's a complete stranger... Well, it didn't feel bad.

"Uh... welcome?" I tilted my head at the girl, finally taking in every single detail of her.

From her short-cropped black hair, a pair of purple eyes that glittered under the blue sky and the rays of the sun, to her chubby, puffed cheeks... that I almost wanted to pinch right now.

'Wait, what? Get on with your senses, Saeran!' I mentally scolded myself.

I still haven't even asked her name or properly introduced myself, and here am I, finding the first stranger-- girl that I approach, extremely cute.

I faked a cough and tried to strike a boring conversation, "What's your name? Why were you standing there?"

I pointed to where she was before and we both looked, noticing a figure approaching here from not far. I have completely forgotten why I'm trying to chat with a complete stranger here.

All that I remember is the unexplainable fear that I felt when I saw her standing on that edge. And honestly, I'm thankful enough that it's me who found myself to her, at a strange, yet very perfect timing.

Before my thoughts can get deeper, she replied.

"My name's Sky, I was just... uhm, you know, looking at the water... Y-yes that's it!" She chuckled and grinned at me widely. "How about you, cute readhead?"

I never had any experience with girls, but so far, in my 13 years of living or getting locked up in our own unwanted house, I'm pretty sure she's trying some funny business right now.

Is she probably... flirting? Haha, that made my heart feel good. I don't understand why.

"Uhh... I'm... Sae... Sae..." I trailed off, my eyes glued on the figure we spotted before, now jogging nearer to the two of us.

"Sae-sae?" She asked, but I could barely hear her, since my Saeyoung-hyung called for me.

"There you are, my little brother!" He finally reached us and held my hand. "Where have you been? Oh, and who's this girl?"

He eyed Sky curiously while she had her forehead creased, looking back and forth at us.

"I'm sorry, missy. But we have to go." Saeyoung started to pull me along. I did not want to leave already, to be honest. I could and would want to stay here with her for a moment longer, even just another minute.

"W-wait!" She called, I looked back at her and stopped. I should have followed hyung, like I always do, but I was just too curious-- or something else, not to look back .

"Uhm... Can you do something about his cheek? It looks painful." Oh, she was asking Saeyoung. Then she finally turned to me, with soft purple eyes full of sincere concern.

"Does it hurt a lot?"

She hesitantly reached for my face. It's definitely the first time I felt someone's warmth like this.

No one showed this much concern for someone pitiful like me, except for my hyung, of course.

But, I do not understand her... she's a completely strange warm-hearted girl. How could she notice such a small wound, that even me-- and hyung ignored?

After all, it was only normal for me, it felt numb even, because I've been scarred like this too many times before that I lost count.

But her... Sky... even her name's strange. She's beautifully strange... that's all I could think of.

Strange enough to pull some heartstrings within me, and made my heart beat a lot fast. I felt really alive, back then. For the first time.

And I can't help, but get curious. Will we ever get to meet again, Sky?

I hope so.
