It was a new day. The sun shone through Nikki's reddish curtains, sending natural light around her room. Nikki awoke, her eyes fluttering open as they adjust to the sudden brightness. She stretched and sluggishly got out of her comfy bed, which she immediately regrets leaving. Yawning, she walks to her closet to pick an outfit for the day. After double-checking all of her clothes, she finally picked something casual.

Nikki continues with her daily routine after dressing, which upon finishing, she goes to the grocery store. She hasn't really gotten her driver's lisense yet (just a learner's permit), so she walks everywhere. It's good exersize, so she doesn't complain.
Right when NIKS finished paying, her phone rang with a call from an unknown number. She put the phone on her shoulder, leaning her head against it so she could hear. "Hello?"
??? - "Greetings, is this Ms. Scars?"
NIKS - "Yes, why?"
??? - "I'm a doctor at Spares Hospital, and we just brought in a woman who claims to be your aunt. Would you mind coming in to confirm this?"
NIKS shook for a moment. "Uh, yes. Do you mind me asking what happened?"
??? - They cleared their throat before answering, "Some sort of accident. We don't really know what happened, the woman supposedly came to the hospital on her own, but collapsed before she could get to the door. Luckily for her, a nurse was exiting the building at the same time, and saw her lying on the ground. She carried your "aunt" and called for assistance. She's resting now, so no need to worry much."
NIKS - "That all sounds terrible. I'll be there soon, after I leave my groceries. I was at shopping, you see. Anyway, even if this woman isn't my aunt, I still want to see if she's okay, I don't want anyone hurt."
??? - "Good. I'll be expecting you. By the way, my name is Dr. Terrell Hayes."
NIKS - "My full name is Nikki Scars. I'll see you soon."
She ended the call and anxiously went back home, putting her groceries on her kitchen counter. Nikki then rushed to the hospital, running as fast as she could.
