I had been glued to the mirror for over an hour just watching the markings on my back. I still couldn't believe the comment Omirion made about them. It just made my skin crawl.
I couldn't help poking at them and pulling my skins. When I was younger I wished they would disappear, but now, I don't. They are my reminders that I can get through anything and that I don't need anyone to put a leash around my neck.
My once wet body was now all dried up except for my hair. It was still soaking wet and a little bit wavy.
The bedroom door flung open and in strolled Omirion. His eyes raked over my naked body before he went into the closet. When he came back out, he threw a dress at me.
"Wear this and be down in less than an hour. I'm expecting guests." He was almost out the door when he spoke again. "Only your presence is required, so just sit in a corner and look pretty. There's no way you can mess that up."
I sighed and got dressed. Drying my hair as much as possible using a towel, I added some product and put my hair in a low bun to get it done and out of the way.
I was not in the mood to cause any havoc or anything of the sort, so I'll just cooperate with his wishes for the time being. For some reason, I've just been feeling down and out of it. Maybe I need a change of scenery or some fresh air.
I didn't even bother to do any makeup or put in my piercings. When I was done looking at my reflection, I went downstairs into the living room and sat on one of the single chairs. Anna passed in the room with a broom, but not before giving me a nasty look.
Maybe if it was another day I would have taken her on, but today I had no energy to deal with her.
I didn't know how long I had been sitting there but Omirion's guests had begin to arrive. Whenever they looked at me, I would offer a small smile and turn my head in another direction to avoid any unnecessary conversation.
Music had begin to play and Ana was walking around serving finger foods and drinks. I was tired of just sitting in one position, so I decided to help Anne. She shot me a surprised look but I continued serving the guests food.
They were all dressed in expensive clothing. Everything about them screamed money, from their head to their shoes was just the best of the best. They were certainly not my type of crowd.
As soon as I was done emptying all my trays, I exited the living room and went to read a book in the hallway. I was contemplating on whether or not to go by the pool but I didn't want to hear Omirion's voice scolding me once again.
Hopefully this gathering will end soon so that I can get out of this place.
