They know
Five days before

In the outskirts of a small town in Romania there were rumors of an enchantress living among mortals near the mountains. A witch with profound hazel eyes and they believed that if anyone were to look into them long enough, she can literally make any person do whatever she desires. And the targeted were mostly men. Or so, that's what the older women in town blathered. Bothered by the woman's youth and beauty, their hearts filled with envy and would say anything to make themselves feel better. But the woman located near the mountains gave no mind to the semi-rumors, she knew the 'old hags', as she liked to call them, were simply dissatisfied with themselves and that mortals lacked poise. She didn't travel a long distance to make friends.

So when there was a knock on the thick, wooden door to her cozy home, she was surprised and curious. The brunette woman walked over to answer and turned the knob pulling the door open. She held back a frightening yelp at what was right in front of her. A middle aged woman wrinkled her face in pain as she clutched her bloody soaked side, landing on the woman's feet. The dark-haired woman's glossy eyes widened and she dropped herself beside the injured lady. Carefully placing her hand under the woman's graying head.

"They know." She spit out dryly and slowly. The rumored witch furrowed her eye brows. They know what? Who exactly are 'they'? And what exactly do they know? "The girl. They know about her. They're going after her. She's not safe, get to her before they do."

Before they do. Violet!

It was then that Evie Lovelace's trepidation became true.
