INTRODUCTION THE BEGINNING
MORRIGAN FÍONN WAS OLD. It was the classic tale of the hunted becoming the hunter. After she and her brother were exiled — along with the other traitors of the crown — from their homeland to Earth in fifth century BC they and the others were forced to spread across the world, hiding from the assassins and hunters the King sent. In second century BC, the first immortal witch was created, this created a powerful enough entity of magic that the Greaters could use to trap Morrigan. They were frustrated, they had eliminated all of the other traitors except for Morrigan and Myrrdín. By harnessing the power of the two immortal witches, they were able to place a curse on her. A curse that would haunt her for the next two thousand years without any rest.
NIKLAUS MIKAELSON WAS ONCE A HUMAN. He met a girl and he fell in love with her, he felt as though he was drawn to her by an otherworldly force. In his mind they would be together for all of time — he was wrong. The time came for the girl to leave, when he was placed under the hybrid curse by his own mother, taking all of his memories of her with him. He next saw her five hundred years later in England, believing that she and her brother were Irish royalty. They fell in love all over again — he had his memories returned to him. But the time came for her to leave again as the curse was not broken which meant she could not stay. The girl remained haunted by what she could not have whilst Niklaus knew no different.
MORRIGAN WAS A GHOST STORY. One that was told to human children as a cautionary tale for lying and theft. In witch lore they spoke of her as an abomination, but this was only hearsay. Her "grimoire" and book would only appear at certain times — when there was a deal to make. When Bonnie Bennett finds a book talking about The Phantom Queen she immediately think that by summoning her she would help them kill Klaus Mikaelson. But the Morrigan only makes deals that suit her.
