Chapter 12

The dinner was going alright. He just awkwardly kept staring at his food.

"Is there something wrong with it?" You asked 

"What?" He looked up at you, "Oh! No, no... Just not hungry..."

"Really? You didn't have to order such a big meal." You hummed, "You can take it home in a box if you really can't eat anything."

"Really?" He seemed relieved, "I... Yeah that would be nice." 

You suppressed a chuckle, "So what did you say you did again?"

"Oh! I um.. work a park stand selling balloons." He replied sheepishly 

"Balloons?" You hummed taking another bite of food 

"Oh yeah... And cotton candy and stuff..."

You raised a brow at his odd reaction but you let it slide was nervous first date jitters. You brushed a few strains of hair from your face as you pondered over your next question. You had a lot of things you wanted to interrogate him about, but just didn't. It was odd for you. 

"Any hobbies?" You hummed

"Oh yeah! I like playing video games- uh- I like to race!" He chuckled 

"Race? Like racing games?" You raised a brow 

"Uuuuhhhh- Yeah." He chuckled nervously sinking down a little in his seat 

"I enjoy the occasional video game." You stated causing him to perk 

"Really what ones?" He asked with a cute smile 

"Generally whatever ones Sari wants me to play with her. I don't mind it." You smiled a little 

'Playing sparkling games? How pathetic.'

You ignored the voice and kept making small talk with Ben. You watched his oddly cute and charming excitement as he talked about things he liked with a smile. He was easily excitable you noticed, it gave him a cute childish charm.

'Pathetic how this is charming to you.'

You once again ignored the comment, "So Ben what are we gonna do after this?"

He looked extremely panicked when you asked this, "We have to do something after this??"

"We don't have too, but I was wondering if you had anything else planned, it is getting quite late." you chuckled, "We've been here for almost an hour."

He blinked in surprise, "We have??"

"Yeah, you got very long winded about that new video game you played." You smiled 

He exhaled, "Should we ask for the check?" 

"We can if you want this dinner to be over." 

"I.. I really don't want it to ever be over.." 

You felt yourself blushing a little at the comment, "We could always... go for another date after."

He perked, "Really!?"

You chuckled and nodded, "Yes really, but first we should pay."

You had a surprisingly good time with the little blondie as you walked up towards the door of the Sumdac Tower with him. He insisted on walking you to the door, you indulged him.

"So this is it." You stated, "So... see you around?"

"Yup!" He beamed happily 

You smiled faintly and gave him a kiss on the cheek, "Goodbye Ben." 

You let go of the blushing boy and walked back into the tower and looked around the entrance hall and smiled with a soft sigh. Tonight was fun. You couldn't wait for next time.
