Violet's POV
We were finally here, the Gexa Stadium in Dallas, Texas. We were an hour away from the show starting. Lainey and I are beyond excited, we are going to see 5SOS live very soon, and this has been everything we wanted ever since we joined the fam several years ago. This is all we have talked about the past year. We got our tickets the day they went on sale, which sort of added to the insanity, but I don't think either one of us give a fuck. Lainey's voice breaks my train of thought. "What?" I ask. " I didn't quite hear you the first time."
"I'm second guessing the notebook," she blurts.
Lainey has always been the one to be confident that something would work, and here she is rethinking something the last minute. It doesn't seem much like her. "Why?"
"Look how many people are here," she frowns, "there is no way that we are going to get the notebook all the way from the lawn to the stage. I mean, even if they do why would they even pick it up?" She looks down at her outfit, she's never worn anything like she's wearing today. It's just not what she's used to. The past few months she's been in extremely baggy, old shirts and some sweat pants. She lost weight just so she could wear the outfit she's wearing and still be confident. Don't get me wrong, she succeeded in pulling it off, but her confidence is below zero.
"Do I hear my best friend giving up?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
She looks back up, mixed emotions are covering the domain of her face. "I guess so."
I laugh harshly, "No, Lane. Not today, you have dragged me through this entire thing for a year, and I'll be God damned if you quit. What was that F word you told me the first day? Faith? That sounds about right." I pause a moment. Part of me knew that i was bull-shitting myself, and her too. However, I was not going to let my best friend lose hope in something she has been so excited about for the past 365 days. "Come on, this is going to work!" I tell her, grabbing her hand and pulling her to our spots.
We ended up talking about everything for another 45 minutes before we started to hear music. About 10 minutes after that, the crowd is going insane, and I can make out four figures running around on stage. The show is starting, and this is definitely happening. I look to my right to find Lainey screaming with everybody else. Her face is turning red, like it does when she gets excited or running out of air. This is probably a case in which she's both. Screaming at the top of my lungs, I feel my throat going raw already.

The concert is coming to an end, and Lainey and I are working our way to the front as best we can. All of the other fans, barricades, and losing each other among everyone else makes the journey much harder than what we expected it would be. Nonetheless, we make it to the front, close enough for us to throw the notebook and it make its way onstage. "You ready!?" I scream at Lainey, trying to make myself heard above the loud music.
She gives the notebook a quick kiss, handing it to me and I do the same. She nods, and I throw it. Our most prized possession makes it onstage and lands in between Luke and Calum. We give each other a glance, and we have an understanding. Whatever happens now is no longer in our control, so we walk back to our spots and enjoy the rest of the concert.
