Zack Fullbuster and the King of Sin: A Ruby X Oc Story Volume 2

Chapter 6 Volume

Zack (POV)
After my incident with Torchwick I've become a lot more distant from people. Thankfully RWBY hasn't changed the way the feel about me. My team knows about the incident too and they're still cool with me. Ozpin and Qrow know about the incident since I reported it to them. I have to undergo further training with Qrow to control the demon inside me. It's now Friday and I'm sitting in Goodwitch's combat class with my team and RWBY. Dante is on my left and Ruby is on my right. We just got done watching Pyrrha wipe the floor with Cardin's team
Goodwitch- Well done miss Nikos. So should have no problem qualifying forte tournament.
Pyrrha- Thank you professor.
Goodwitch- Now I know that's a tough act to follow but we have time for one more sparring match. Any volunteers? (Looks at Blake) Miss Belladonna you've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't you..
???- I'll do it.
Goodwitch- Mercury is it. Let's find you an opponent.
Mercury- Actually, I wanna fight Zack.
My eyes go wide and Ruby grabs and holds my right hand.
Goodwitch- Zack, is that acceptable with you?
Zack- Yeah that's fine. (Turns to Ruby) I'll be ok.
I go to the locker room and grab Death Sentence, Angels Mercy, and Last Rite from my locker and head into the classroom battle arena. Mercury stands across from me and I enter my stance. I give Mercury the coldest death glare that can.
Goodwitch- Begin!
I stand still waiting for him to make a move. He comes at me with a right roundhouse kick. I block it with my blade and I pull out Last Rite with my right hand and fire some shots at him. He rolls out the way and falls back some. I rush him and we trade strikes with him raging me with some kicks and me hitting with a couple slashes and a shot to his shoulder. I back up and holster my gun I transition my sword into my right hand and place my left on the ground.
Zack- Devil's Stream!
I knew that he was going to try and dodge it so in that moment run so fast that I disappeared and reappeared behind him in a split second. I grab his head and I put my black/red energy charged sword to his neck.
Zack- (whispers in his ear) If you don't give up right now, I swear I will murder you right now. I don't give a shit.
My eye changes to get my point across even further.
Mercury- I-I give up. I'm done.
Goodwitch- And that's the match. Zack Fullbuster is your winner.
As my team and RWBY cheer me on I look into the higher seats and see Emerald. I give her the same death glare I gave Mercury and I head out of class since class was over. I'm walking ahead of everybody else when I turn and see sun walk up on Blake.
Sun- Hey Blake, you doing ok?
Blake- I'm fine.
Sun- So I hear there's this dance going on this weekend. It sounds lame but I think you and me not as lame.
Blake- What?
Zack- He's asking you to the dance.
Blake- I don't have time for a stupid dance. I thought you would understand. Plus I have a boyfriend now. It's Elias.
Now everyone including myself was shocked at this cause Elias never told anyone that him and Blake started dating. Blake walks off and I see Sun looking down so I go up to him.
Zack- Hey man, don't take it personally. She's just been wrapped up in nothing but Torchwick and whitefang business as of late. She may not seem like it but she cares for you. I know it's cliche but there are other fish in the sea. You will be alright.
Sun- Thanks man.
Zack- Anytime bro.
With that I walk off to my room.
Timeskip
I'm in my room by myself. The rest of my team are off doing something with their respective interests so it's just me. I'm laying on my bed playing a little guitar when I here a knock on my door.
Zack- Hold on I'm coming.
I answer the door to see that it's Ruby.
Ruby- Hey Zack.
Ruby- Hi.
Ruby- Can I come in and hangout with you for awhile.
Zack- Sure I guess.
She comes in and sits on Ethan's bed across from mine. I go back to my bed and I continue to play my guitar while Ruby listens to the music.
Ruby- Hey Zack?
Zack- Yeah?
Ruby- Is something wrong?
Zack- No why?
Ruby- I've been watching you and ever since we first decided to plan for the investigation, you've become a lot more colder, you've become more of a loner, and you seem to get easily angered.
Zack- (puts guitar down) So you've caught on. I knew you were smart.
Ruby gets up and comes over to me and cups my face.
Ruby- You know if there is anything bothering you, you can always come to me right?
Zack- Yeah I know. It's complicated.
Ruby- I understand. Just know that I'm here for you and I always will be.
Zack- Thank you.
We stare into each other's eyes for what seems to be forever. Actually it was more like 10 seconds.
Ruby- There was actually another thing I wanted to ask you (let's go of my face)
Zack- Yes I will go to the dance with you.
Ruby- How did you know I was gonna ask that? You didn't even give me a chance to ask you.
Zack- You're easy to read.
Ruby- Whatever.
Ruby hugs me and we stay like that for a couple minutes.
Zack- Plus I kinda have to show up. I'm the DJ and I'm gonna sing a couple songs.
Ruby- (Lifts her head) Really?
Zack- Yeah, but don't worry. I'll make time for you.
Ruby- You better.
Zack- All that's left is to go get me something to wear tomorrow.
Ruby- Can I come with you? I need a dress.
Zack- Sure. It'll just be the two of us again.
Ruby- Yay!
We ended up hanging out the rest of the night.
