Emris crouched between the trees, her bow drawn at the ready. She saw the giant Caastupine - a rather large, lynx-like cat - she referred to as her friend stalk up beside her, staring at the Gruxeton who's been terrorising these woods for months. She shot her arrow at the creature - shaped like a Minotaur with more of a goblin feel to them - just as it turned its ugly head towards her, lips pulled back in a snarl. Saiki, her Caastupine friend, charged after the slightly younger one hiding behind the tree behind the dead Gruxeton.
Saiki had killed the other Gruxton, and Emris was already checking her's was dead when Jaeger crept up behind her. "I thought you were going to leave one for me." They said, but she just shrugged back at him. "I thought you would get there quicker." She replied, smiling softly as Saiki bounded over to her, his sharp teeth pulled back in a bloody grin. She patted the Casstupine's nose before looking out over towards the deeper part of the forest, away from the village the three had been staying at.
She readied her bow again, instantly giving Saiki the signal to crouch low, snarling, Jaeger holding a knife close to their body in a defensive stance. After a few tense moments of silence, a Pacaros - a horse with lots of different shades of blue on it - trotted out of the bush, an elven warrior atop of it. The warrior looked down at Emris with a face of disgust, making her roll her eyes as she straightened up. "What do you want, elf?" She snapped, sheathing her arrow and checking the string of her bow.
"Be quiet human. I have a message for you." He replied coldly, before clearing his throat, a scroll appearing in front of him. "Princess Carmea has returned to the Kingdom of Melva Nalore, and both the King and Queen request your presence in the city to reunite with the royal." Emris' eyes widened as she looked towards Jaeger, almost dropping her bow. "Carrie's back?" She asked, and the blue person in front of her gave her a demeaning look as they answered, "I believe that is what the good warrior has just said." Jaeger replied, nodding to the elf, who only turned away, his Pacaros trotting back into the forest.
"Stupid elf." Jaeger muttered before turning back to Emris, who was half frozen in happiness, Saiki prodding her with his paw with worry. "Carrie's home!" She grinned, hugging Saiki, who was surprised at her sudden movement and fell onto his back, Emris on his chest. Jaeger shook theit head at the two, just as they noticed a small Pakray - a small dog like creature (a husky with elongated ears) - cautiously making it's way over. The blue man knelt down, gesturing for the smart animal to make it's way over to him. "Well, then I guess we've got a welcoming present for the Princess."
Emris smiled over at Jaeger as they held up the small animal, getting off of Saiki and walking over to the two, stroking to Pakray gently. "She'll love him if her taste in things hasn't changed." She replied, before staring at him, "I think you should be called Zyon." She smiled as the Pakray, Zyon, yapped in happiness, just as Saiki poked his head in between Emris and Jaeger. Zyon yapped, jumping on the overly large cat's nose, Saikia staring at him crossed eyed. "I think Saiki's got someone to look after now." Emris grinned as Zyon sat on top of Saiki's head, the larger animal huffing at the small Pakray on it's head.
