Emris shot up, her breathing shaky as she looked around her wildly, hoping that it wasn't real. It was rare for her to get a dream so vivid, but it looked so real; from the Gruxeton, to the elf, to the warmth of palace around her, even Jaeger next to her felt real. She looked towards the flaps of the tent, where they'd been sitting when she fell asleep, but they weren't there, only Saiki's head resting against the floor. "Saiki? Where's Jaeger?" She asked, sitting up, but he only gave a huff of breath, nodding outside. Emris rolled her eyes, stroking him behind the ears before she walked outside, smiling when she saw Jaeger sitting by the stream, talking to a small fish in the water. "Hey, J, can we talk in a minute? Once you're done talking to your friend over there?" She asked, and they nodded back at her, a smile on their face.
Emris walked back inside, leaning against Saiki as she waited for her friend to finish talking to the fish in the river. "I think there's going to be a lot happening soon, Saiki." She told him quietly, but he only purred and rubbed his head into her arm. Emris, after huffing a laugh, looked out towards the lake, where Jaeger was just standing up, the fish waving at them before swimming away.
"What is it you needed to talk about?" They asked, sitting next to her and leaning against Saiki as well. "I had a strange dream. I've not dreamed about her in years." Emris began, her friend looking over at her with a confused look on their face. "Carrie, that is. She'd turned mad at the end, though. It was strange. It was like, her, her parents and her brother, they kinda... grew. I don't know how to describe it." She said, and Jaeger sighed, putting their arm around her.
"We're going to figure this out, but first of all, we need to get back to the kingdom. The King and Queen have sent for us." They told her, and she nodded, leaning further back into Saiki. "Sai, you ready for a long run today?" She asked, and he huffed, rolling over so he was on his back, the two people now leaning on his stomach. "I'd take that as a no, if I were you." Jaeger grinned, making Emris sigh before standing up.
